L'Eternel étendra... C'est le psalmiste qui parle ici, développant la pensée renfermée dans l'oracle du verset 1.

De Sion : le point de départ d'une domination dont les limites ne sont pas indiquées, parce qu'il n'y en a point. Comparez Psaumes 2.6 ; Michée 4.2,3, etc.

Le sceptre, littéralement : le bâton, insigne et symbole du commandement, comme la verge de Moïse (comparez Nombres 24.17).

Domine. Le pouvoir vient d'être donné au Seigneur ; il est appelé à le conquérir et à l'exercer.
