Les deux fils de l'onction. Ce sont les deux charges du sacerdoce et de la royauté, représentées en ce moment par Jéhosua et Zorobabel. Il les appelle littéralement les fils de l'huile, les hommes jouissant du privilège de l'onction. Le souverain sacrificateur portait en Israël le nom de Haccohen hammaschiach : le sacrificateur oint (Lévitique 4.5, etc.), et le roi, celui de Meschiach Jehova : l'oint de Jéhova (2Samuel 1.14 etc.). Ces deux charges sont en effet les organes des grâces et des forces abondantes que Dieu veut répandre sur son peuple. On pourrait rattacher le sacerdoce à la personne de l'ange de l'Eternel qui a intercédé pour le peuple au chapitre 1, et la royauté à l'Eternel lui-même. Dans la vision Apocalypse chapitre 11, les deux prophètes qui luttent avec l'Antéchrist et qui sont représentés comme un nouveau Moïse et un nouvel Aaron, portent aussi le nom de fils de l'onction, sans doute parce qu'Aaron représentait le sacerdoce et Moïse la royauté.

Qui se tiennent auprès du Seigneur... pour recevoir les ordres qu'ils doivent exécuter.
