Salomon est infidèle au Seigneur
1 Now king Solomon loved many foreign women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians, and Hittites;2 of the nations concerning which Yahweh said to the children of Israel, "You shall not go among them, neither shall they come among you; for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods." Solomon joined to these in love.3 He had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines; and his wives turned away his heart.4 For it happened, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods; and his heart was not perfect with Yahweh his God, as was the heart of David his father.5 For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.6 Solomon did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, and didn't go fully after Yahweh, as did David his father.7 Then Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the abomination of Moab, on the mountain that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech the abomination of the children of Ammon.8 So he did for all his foreign wives, who burnt incense and sacrificed to their gods.9 Yahweh was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned away from Yahweh, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice,10 and had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he didn't keep that which Yahweh commanded.11 Therefore Yahweh said to Solomon, "Because this is done by you, and you have not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded you, I will surely tear the kingdom from you, and will give it to your servant.12 Notwithstanding I will not do it in your days, for David your father's sake; but I will tear it out of the hand of your son.13 However I will not tear away all the kingdom; but I will give one tribe to your son, for David my servant's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake which I have chosen."Les adversaires de Salomon
14 Yahweh raised up an adversary to Solomon, Hadad the Edomite: he was of the king's seed in Edom.15 For it happened, when David was in Edom, and Joab the captain of the army was gone up to bury the slain, and had struck every male in Edom16 (for Joab and all Israel remained there six months, until he had cut off every male in Edom);17 that Hadad fled, he and certain Edomites of his father's servants with him, to go into Egypt, Hadad being yet a little child.18 They arose out of Midian, and came to Paran; and they took men with them out of Paran, and they came to Egypt, to Pharaoh king of Egypt, who gave him a house, and appointed him food, and gave him land.19 Hadad found great favor in the sight of Pharaoh, so that he gave him as wife the sister of his own wife, the sister of Tahpenes the queen.20 The sister of Tahpenes bore him Genubath his son, whom Tahpenes weaned in Pharaoh's house; and Genubath was in Pharaoh's house among the sons of Pharaoh.21 When Hadad heard in Egypt that David slept with his fathers, and that Joab the captain of the army was dead, Hadad said to Pharaoh, "Let me depart, that I may go to my own country."22 Then Pharaoh said to him, "But what have you lacked with me, that behold, you seek to go to your own country?" He answered, "Nothing, however only let me depart."23 God raised up an adversary to him, Rezon the son of Eliada, who had fled from his lord Hadadezer king of Zobah.24 He gathered men to him, and became captain over a troop, when David killed them of Zobah: and they went to Damascus, and lived therein, and reigned in Damascus.25 He was an adversary to Israel all the days of Solomon, besides the mischief of Hadad: and he abhorred Israel, and reigned over Syria.La révolte de Jéroboam
26 Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an Ephraimite of Zeredah, a servant of Solomon, whose mother's name was Zeruah, a widow, he also lifted up his hand against the king.27 This was the reason why he lifted up his hand against the king: Solomon built Millo, and repaired the breach of the city of David his father.28 The man Jeroboam was a mighty man of valor; and Solomon saw the young man that he was industrious, and he put him in charge of all the labor of the house of Joseph.29 It happened at that time, when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him in the way; now Ahijah had clad himself with a new garment; and they two were alone in the field.30 Ahijah laid hold of the new garment that was on him, and tore it in twelve pieces.31 He said to Jeroboam, "Take ten pieces; for thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, 'Behold, I will tear the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to you32 (but he shall have one tribe, for my servant David's sake and for Jerusalem's sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel);33 because that they have forsaken me, and have worshiped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, Chemosh the god of Moab, and Milcom the god of the children of Ammon. They have not walked in my ways, to do that which is right in my eyes, and to keep my statutes and my ordinances, as David his father did.34 "'However I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand; but I will make him prince all the days of his life, for David my servant's sake whom I chose, who kept my commandments and my statutes;35 but I will take the kingdom out of his son's hand, and will give it to you, even ten tribes.36 To his son will I give one tribe, that David my servant may have a lamp always before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen me to put my name there.37 I will take you, and you shall reign according to all that your soul desires, and shall be king over Israel.38 It shall be, if you will listen to all that I command you, and will walk in my ways, and do that which is right in my eyes, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did; that I will be with you, and will build you a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel to you.39 I will for this afflict the seed of David, but not forever.'"40 Solomon sought therefore to kill Jeroboam; but Jeroboam arose, and fled into Egypt, to Shishak king of Egypt, and was in Egypt until the death of Solomon.41 Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, and all that he did, and his wisdom, aren't they written in the book of the acts of Solomon?42 The time that Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel was forty years.43 Solomon slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his place. -

1 וְהַמֶּ֣לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֗ה אָהַ֞ב נָשִׁ֧ים נָכְרִיּ֛וֹת רַבּ֖וֹת וְאֶת־בַּת־פַּרְעֹ֑ה מוֹאֲבִיּ֤וֹת עַמֳּנִיּוֹת֙ אֲדֹ֣מִיֹּ֔ת צֵדְנִיֹּ֖ת חִתִּיֹּֽת׃2 מִן־הַגּוֹיִ֗ם אֲשֶׁ֣ר אָֽמַר־יְהוָה֩ אֶל־בְּנֵ֨י יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל לֹֽא־תָבֹ֣אוּ בָהֶ֗ם וְהֵם֙ לֹא־יָבֹ֣אוּ בָכֶ֔ם אָכֵן֙ יַטּ֣וּ אֶת־לְבַבְכֶ֔ם אַחֲרֵ֖י אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֑ם בָּהֶ֛ם דָּבַ֥ק שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה לְאַהֲבָֽה׃3 וַיְהִי־ל֣וֹ נָשִׁ֗ים שָׂרוֹת֙ שְׁבַ֣ע מֵא֔וֹת וּפִֽלַגְשִׁ֖ים שְׁלֹ֣שׁ מֵא֑וֹת וַיַּטּ֥וּ נָשָׁ֖יו אֶת־לִבּֽוֹ׃4 וַיְהִ֗י לְעֵת֙ זִקְנַ֣ת שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה נָשָׁיו֙ הִטּ֣וּ אֶת־לְבָב֔וֹ אַחֲרֵ֖י אֱלֹהִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֑ים וְלֹא־הָיָ֨ה לְבָב֤וֹ שָׁלֵם֙ עִם־יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהָ֔יו כִּלְבַ֖ב דָּוִ֥יד אָבִֽיו׃5 וַיֵּ֣לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה אַחֲרֵ֣י עַשְׁתֹּ֔רֶת אֱלֹהֵ֖י צִדֹנִ֑ים וְאַחֲרֵ֣י מִלְכֹּ֔ם שִׁקֻּ֖ץ עַמֹּנִֽים׃6 וַיַּ֧עַשׂ שְׁלֹמֹ֛ה הָרַ֖ע בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה וְלֹ֥א מִלֵּ֛א אַחֲרֵ֥י יְהוָ֖ה כְּדָוִ֥ד אָבִֽיו׃7 אָז֩ יִבְנֶ֨ה שְׁלֹמֹ֜ה בָּמָ֗ה לִכְמוֹשׁ֙ שִׁקֻּ֣ץ מוֹאָ֔ב בָּהָ֕ר אֲשֶׁ֖ר עַל־פְּנֵ֣י יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם וּלְמֹ֕לֶךְ שִׁקֻּ֖ץ בְּנֵ֥י עַמּֽוֹן׃8 וְכֵ֣ן עָשָׂ֔ה לְכָל־נָשָׁ֖יו הַנָּכְרִיּ֑וֹת מַקְטִיר֥וֹת וּֽמְזַבְּח֖וֹת לֵאלֹהֵיהֶֽן׃9 וַיִּתְאַנַּ֥ף יְהוָ֖ה בִּשְׁלֹמֹ֑ה כִּֽי־נָטָ֣ה לְבָב֗וֹ מֵעִ֤ם יְהוָה֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל הַנִּרְאָ֥ה אֵלָ֖יו פַּעֲמָֽיִם׃10 וְצִוָּ֤ה אֵלָיו֙ עַל־הַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֔ה לְבִ֨לְתִּי־לֶ֔כֶת אַחֲרֵ֖י אֱלֹהִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֑ים וְלֹ֣א שָׁמַ֔ר אֵ֥ת אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּ֖ה יְהוָֽה׃11 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֜ה לִשְׁלֹמֹ֗ה יַ֚עַן אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָֽיְתָה־זֹּ֣את עִמָּ֔ךְ וְלֹ֤א שָׁמַ֙רְתָּ֙ בְּרִיתִ֣י וְחֻקֹּתַ֔י אֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוִּ֖יתִי עָלֶ֑יךָ קָרֹ֨עַ אֶקְרַ֤ע אֶת־הַמַּמְלָכָה֙ מֵֽעָלֶ֔יךָ וּנְתַתִּ֖יהָ לְעַבְדֶּֽךָ׃12 אַךְ־בְּיָמֶ֙יךָ֙ לֹ֣א אֶעֱשֶׂ֔נָּה לְמַ֖עַן דָּוִ֣ד אָבִ֑יךָ מִיַּ֥ד בִּנְךָ֖ אֶקְרָעֶֽנָּה׃13 רַ֤ק אֶת־כָּל־הַמַּמְלָכָה֙ לֹ֣א אֶקְרָ֔ע שֵׁ֥בֶט אֶחָ֖ד אֶתֵּ֣ן לִבְנֶ֑ךָ לְמַ֙עַן֙ דָּוִ֣ד עַבְדִּ֔י וּלְמַ֥עַן יְרוּשָׁלִַ֖ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר בָּחָֽרְתִּי׃Les adversaires de Salomon
14 וַיָּ֨קֶם יְהוָ֤ה שָׂטָן֙ לִשְׁלֹמֹ֔ה אֵ֖ת הֲדַ֣ד הָאֲדֹמִ֑י מִזֶּ֧רַע הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ ה֖וּא בֶּאֱדֽוֹם׃15 וַיְהִ֗י בִּֽהְי֤וֹת דָּוִד֙ אֶת־אֱד֔וֹם בַּעֲל֗וֹת יוֹאָב֙ שַׂ֣ר הַצָּבָ֔א לְקַבֵּ֖ר אֶת־הַחֲלָלִ֑ים וַיַּ֥ךְ כָּל־זָכָ֖ר בֶּאֱדֽוֹם׃16 כִּ֣י שֵׁ֧שֶׁת חֳדָשִׁ֛ים יָֽשַׁב־שָׁ֥ם יוֹאָ֖ב וְכָל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל עַד־הִכְרִ֥ית כָּל־זָכָ֖ר בֶּאֱדֽוֹם׃17 וַיִּבְרַ֣ח אֲדַ֡ד הוּא֩ וַאֲנָשִׁ֨ים אֲדֹמִיִּ֜ים מֵעַבְדֵ֥י אָבִ֛יו אִתּ֖וֹ לָב֣וֹא מִצְרָ֑יִם וַהֲדַ֖ד נַ֥עַר קָטָֽן׃18 וַיָּקֻ֙מוּ֙ מִמִּדְיָ֔ן וַיָּבֹ֖אוּ פָּארָ֑ן וַיִּקְחוּ֩ אֲנָשִׁ֨ים עִמָּ֜ם מִפָּארָ֗ן וַיָּבֹ֤אוּ מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ אֶל־פַּרְעֹ֣ה מֶֽלֶךְ־מִצְרַ֔יִם וַיִּתֶּן־ל֣וֹ בַ֗יִת וְלֶ֙חֶם֙ אָ֣מַר ל֔וֹ וְאֶ֖רֶץ נָ֥תַן לֽוֹ׃19 וַיִּמְצָא֙ הֲדַ֥ד חֵ֛ן בְּעֵינֵ֥י פַרְעֹ֖ה מְאֹ֑ד וַיִּתֶּן־ל֤וֹ אִשָּׁה֙ אֶת־אֲח֣וֹת אִשְׁתּ֔וֹ אֲח֖וֹת תַּחְפְּנֵ֥יס הַגְּבִירָֽה׃20 וַתֵּ֨לֶד ל֜וֹ אֲח֣וֹת תַּחְפְּנֵ֗יס אֵ֚ת גְּנֻבַ֣ת בְּנ֔וֹ וַתִּגְמְלֵ֣הוּ תַחְפְּנֵ֔ס בְּת֖וֹךְ בֵּ֣ית פַּרְעֹ֑ה וַיְהִ֤י גְנֻבַת֙ בֵּ֣ית פַּרְעֹ֔ה בְּת֖וֹךְ בְּנֵ֥י פַרְעֹֽה׃21 וַהֲדַ֞ד שָׁמַ֣ע בְּמִצְרַ֗יִם כִּֽי־שָׁכַ֤ב דָּוִד֙ עִם־אֲבֹתָ֔יו וְכִי־מֵ֖ת יוֹאָ֣ב שַֽׂר־הַצָּבָ֑א וַיֹּ֤אמֶר הֲדַד֙ אֶל־פַּרְעֹ֔ה שַׁלְּחֵ֖נִי וְאֵלֵ֥ךְ אֶל־אַרְצִֽי׃22 וַיֹּ֧אמֶר ל֣וֹ פַרְעֹ֗ה כִּ֠י מָה־אַתָּ֤ה חָסֵר֙ עִמִּ֔י וְהִנְּךָ֥ מְבַקֵּ֖שׁ לָלֶ֣כֶת אֶל־אַרְצֶ֑ךָ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר ׀ לֹ֔א כִּ֥י שַׁלֵּ֖חַ תְּשַׁלְּחֵֽנִי׃23 וַיָּ֨קֶם אֱלֹהִ֥ים לוֹ֙ שָׂטָ֔ן אֶת־רְז֖וֹן בֶּן־אֶלְיָדָ֑ע אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּרַ֗ח מֵאֵ֛ת הֲדַדְעֶ֥זֶר מֶֽלֶךְ־צוֹבָ֖ה אֲדֹנָֽיו׃24 וַיִּקְבֹּ֤ץ עָלָיו֙ אֲנָשִׁ֔ים וַיְהִ֣י שַׂר־גְּד֔וּד בַּהֲרֹ֥ג דָּוִ֖ד אֹתָ֑ם וַיֵּלְכ֤וּ דַמֶּ֙שֶׂק֙ וַיֵּ֣שְׁבוּ בָ֔הּ וַֽיִּמְלְכ֖וּ בְּדַמָּֽשֶׂק׃25 וַיְהִ֨י שָׂטָ֤ן לְיִשְׂרָאֵל֙ כָּל־יְמֵ֣י שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה וְאֶת־הָרָעָ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר הֲדָ֑ד וַיָּ֙קָץ֙ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַיִּמְלֹ֖ךְ עַל־אֲרָֽם׃La révolte de Jéroboam

Salomon est infidèle au Seigneur
1 Le roi Salomon, qui avait épousé la fille du roi d’Égypte, épousa aussi beaucoup d’autres étrangères, à savoir des Moabites, des Ammonites, des Édomites, des Sidoniennes et des Hittites.2 Pourtant le Seigneur avait dit aux Israélites au sujet de ces nations païennes : « Ne vous mêlez pas aux gens de ces nations et ne les laissez pas se mêler à vous ; car ils vous entraîneraient à adorer leurs dieux. » Mais par amour Salomon s’attacha à ces femmes étrangères ;3 il eut ainsi sept cents épouses de rang princier et trois cents épouses de second rang, qui toutes l’influencèrent beaucoup.4 En effet, quand Salomon fut devenu vieux, ses épouses l’entraînèrent à adorer d’autres dieux, de sorte qu’il cessa d’aimer le Seigneur son Dieu de tout son cœur, à la différence de son père David.5 Il adora Astarté, la déesse des Sidoniens, et Milkom, l’ignoble dieu des Ammonites ;6 il fit ce qui déplaît au Seigneur, car il ne lui obéissait pas fidèlement comme son père David.7 A cette époque, Salomon aménagea un lieu sacré, sur la colline en face de Jérusalem, pour Kemoch, l’ignoble dieu des Moabites ; il en fit aussi aménager un pour Milkom, l’ignoble dieu des Ammonites.8 Il fit la même chose pour les dieux de toutes ses épouses païennes, afin qu’elles puissent leur présenter des offrandes de parfums ou des sacrifices d’animaux.9 Le Seigneur, le Dieu d’Israël, était apparu à deux reprises à Salomon et lui avait ordonné précisément de ne pas adorer d’autres dieux, mais Salomon ne lui avait pas obéi et s’était détaché de lui. Alors le Seigneur se mit en colère contre Salomon11 et lui dit : « Puisque tu t’es conduit ainsi, puisque tu n’as respecté ni l’alliance conclue entre nous, ni les ordres que je t’avais donnés, je vais t’arracher la royauté et la donner à l’un de tes sujets.12 Toutefois, à cause de ton père David, je n’accomplirai pas cette menace durant ta vie : j’arracherai la royauté à ton fils ;13 d’ailleurs, je ne lui reprendrai pas tout le royaume, mais je lui laisserai une tribu, à cause de mon serviteur David et à cause de Jérusalem, la ville que j’ai choisie. »Les adversaires de Salomon
14 Le Seigneur suscita un adversaire à Salomon : c’était un Édomite, nommé Hadad, descendant de la famille royale d’Édom.15 A l’époque où David avait combattu le royaume d’Édom, le chef de son armée, Joab, y était allé avec une troupe enterrer les soldats israélites morts au combat, puis il avait fait mourir tous les garçons et tous les hommes édomites.16 En effet, Joab et toute sa troupe étaient restés six mois en Édom, pour y massacrer les garçons et les hommes.17 Cependant Hadad, qui était encore un tout jeune homme, réussit à s’enfuir en Égypte avec quelques Édomites qui avaient été au service de son père.18 Ils quittèrent la région de Madian, traversèrent le désert de Paran d’où ils entraînèrent avec eux quelques hommes, et se rendirent en Égypte auprès du roi de ce pays, le Pharaon. Ce dernier fournit à Hadad une maison et des terres et lui promit de le nourrir.19 Il fut même si bienveillant à l’égard du jeune Hadad, qu’il lui fit épouser une sœur de la “Grande Dame” Tapenès, sa femme.20 La sœur de Tapenès donna un fils à Hadad, qui l’appela Guenoubath ; Tapenès le fit élever dans la maison du Pharaon, où il vécut avec les propres enfants du roi.21 Lorsque Hadad, qui était encore en Égypte, apprit que David était mort, de même que le général Joab, il dit au Pharaon : « Laisse-moi retourner dans mon pays ! »22 Le Pharaon lui demanda : « Est-ce qu’il te manque quelque chose auprès de moi ? Pourquoi cherches-tu à retourner dans ton pays ? » – « Il ne me manque rien, répondit-il, mais laisse-moi partir quand même ! »23 Dieu suscita un autre adversaire à Salomon : Rezon, fils d’Éliada, qui s’était enfui de chez son maître Hadadézer, roi de Soba.24 A l’époque où David avait massacré l’armée de Hadadézer, Rezon avait rassemblé des gens autour de lui et était devenu chef de bande. Ils s’étaient alors rendus à Damas, s’y étaient installés et avaient fini par y prendre le pouvoir.25 Rezon fut donc un adversaire du peuple d’Israël pendant tout le règne de Salomon, à côté de tout le mal que fit aussi Hadad ; il détesta Israël tant qu’il fut roi de Syrie.La révolte de Jéroboam
26 Il y eut aussi la révolte de Jéroboam contre le roi. En voici le récit : Jéroboam, fils de Nebath, était un Éfraïmite de la localité de Seréda ; sa mère, veuve, s’appelait Seroua ; lui-même était au service de Salomon, mais il se révolta contre lui. A l’époque où Salomon faisait construire la terrasse appelée Millo et réparer une brèche dans la muraille de la Cité de David,28 ce Jéroboam était un jeune homme de valeur ; Salomon remarqua qu’il faisait bien son travail et il le désigna comme surveillant des ouvriers des tribus d’Éfraïm et de Manassé.29 Un jour que Jéroboam était sorti de Jérusalem, le prophète Ahia, de Silo, le rencontra en chemin. Ils étaient tous deux seuls en pleine campagne. Ahia avait un manteau neuf sur les épaules ;30 il le prit et le déchira en douze morceaux,31 puis il dit à Jéroboam : « Prends dix de ces morceaux ! Voici en effet ce que déclare le Seigneur, le Dieu d’Israël : “Je suis en train d’arracher le royaume à Salomon, et je te confierai dix tribus ;32 une seule tribu lui restera, à cause de mon serviteur David et à cause de Jérusalem, la seule ville que j’ai choisie dans tout le territoire d’Israël.33 Je ferai cela parce que les Israélites m’ont abandonné : ils se sont mis à adorer Astarté, déesse des Sidoniens, Kemoch, dieu des Moabites, et Milkom, dieu des Ammonites ; ils n’ont pas suivi le chemin que je leur avais indiqué, ils n’ont pas agi loyalement envers moi, ils n’ont pas obéi aux lois et aux règles que je leur avais données, contrairement à ce que faisait David, le père de Salomon.34 Pourtant ce n’est pas à Salomon que j’arracherai tout le royaume : je le maintiendrai comme chef de mon peuple pendant toute sa vie, à cause de mon serviteur David que j’ai choisi et qui a obéi à mes commandements et à mes lois.35 C’est au fils de Salomon que j’enlèverai le royaume, et à toi, Jéroboam, je donnerai dix de ces tribus.36 Mais je laisserai quand même une tribu à son fils, afin que mon serviteur David ait toujours un de ses descendants qui règne devant moi à Jérusalem, la ville que j’ai choisie pour y manifester ma présence parmi vous.37 Quant à toi, Jéroboam, je t’accorde la royauté, comme tu le désires : tu régneras sur les dix tribus d’Israël.38 Si tu écoutes tout ce que je te dirai, si tu suis le chemin que je t’indiquerai, si tu agis loyalement envers moi, si tu obéis aux lois et aux commandements que je te donnerai, comme le faisait mon serviteur David, alors je serai avec toi, et je te promets que tes descendants régneront pour toujours, comme ceux de David. Je te donnerai les dix tribus d’Israël39 pour humilier les descendants de David – mais je ne les humilierai pas pour toujours –.” »40 Salomon chercha alors à faire mourir Jéroboam ; mais ce dernier s’enfuit en Égypte et se réfugia auprès de Chichac, le roi de ce pays ; il y resta jusqu’à la mort de Salomon.41 Le reste de l’histoire de Salomon est contenu dans le livre intitulé Actes de Salomon ; on y parle de tout ce qu’il a fait et de la sagesse qui était la sienne.42 Salomon régna pendant quarante ans à Jérusalem sur l’ensemble du peuple d’Israël.43 Lorsqu’il mourut, on l’enterra près de son père, dans la Cité de David ; ce fut son fils Roboam qui lui succéda.

Hadad espère, dans ces circonstances, réussir à affranchir son peuple et à recouvrer le trône paternel. Il ne paraît pas avoir réussi ; comparez 1Rois 22.48 et 2Rois 8.20. Mais son retour causa de grands embarras à Salomon (verset 14). Voilà pourquoi il est nommé en premier au nombre des ennemis qui troublèrent la fin de son règne.
