2 Chroniques 7.20

Je vous arracherai de mon pays que je vous ai donné, je rejetterai loin de moi cette maison que j'ai consacrée à mon nom, et j'en ferai la fable et la risée de tous les peuples.

Et je les arracherai. Les : vos fils, d'après 1Rois 9.6.

Il faut remarquer que pour le roi (versets 17 et suivants) le cas de la fidélité, et pour le peuple (versets 19 et suivants) le cas de l'infidélité est seul supposé ; mais les cas contraires s'entendent d'eux-mêmes.
