Esaïe 44.12

Le forgeron aiguise un ciseau sur des charbons brûlants. Il le travaille à coups de marteau, avec la force de son bras. Mais dès qu’il a faim, il n’a plus de force. S’il ne boit pas d’eau, il est épuisé.
Le forgeron, (comme pour) une hache, Travaille avec le charbon Et il façonne (l’idole) à coups de marteau ; Il la travaille d’un bras vigoureux ; Mais a-t-il faim, Le voilà sans force ; Ne boit-il pas d’eau, Le voilà fatigué.

Segond 21 Pour confectionner une hache, le forgeron travaille avec des braises, et il la façonne à coups de marteau, il la travaille d'un bras vigoureux. Cependant, il suffit qu’il ait faim et le voilà sans force, qu’il n’ait pas bu d’eau et le voilà épuisé.

World English Bible The blacksmith takes an axe, works in the coals, fashions it with hammers, and works it with his strong arm. He is hungry, and his strength fails; he drinks no water, and is faint.
