Mardochée n'a pas eu la progression des honneurs qu'il méritait, il est retourné à sa place, pour accomplir son devoir. L'honneur est accordé en réalité à ceux qui n'ont pas une trop haute opinion d'eux-mêmes. Haman, quant à lui, n'a pu supporter le cours des évènements. Quel mal avait-il donc fait ?

Ce qui brise le cœur de l'orgueilleux ne hantera pas le sommeil de l'homme simple. En plus de cet événement, son triste sort lui a été confirmé par son épouse et ses amis. Ils ont pleinement admis que les juifs, malgré leur dispersion parmi les nations, étaient spécialement placés sous la protection divine. Le peuple juif avait une bien triste tâche : s'il ne pouvait pas conseiller à Haman de se repentir, il a néanmoins prévu son destin inévitable. La sagesse de Dieu se manifeste par les diverses délivrances de Son église, afin que soit révélée Sa propre Gloire.
