Exode 29.38

Voici ce que tu offriras sur l'autel : deux agneaux d'un an, chaque jour, à perpétuité.
וְזֶ֕ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר תַּעֲשֶׂ֖ה עַל־הַמִּזְבֵּ֑חַ כְּבָשִׂ֧ים בְּנֵֽי־שָׁנָ֛ה שְׁנַ֥יִם לַיּ֖וֹם תָּמִֽיד׃

38 à 46 Le sacrifice perpétuel

Ce qui suit n'est point en rapport avec l'acte d'installation des sacrificateurs. Il s'agit au contraire d'un sacrifice quotidien. Ces ordonnances se retrouvent à peu près telles quelles dans Nombres 28.3-8. Le sacrifice quotidien représentait la consécration toujours renouvelée du peuple à son Dieu. Il était offert deux fois par jour ; aussi le feu ne devait-il jamais s'éteindre sur l'autel (Lévitique 6.9). En même temps que ces sacrifices du matin et du soir, l'encens était offert sur l'autel d'or dans le Lieu saint (Exode 30.7-8).

Chaque matin, un agneau devait être offert sur l'autel et un autre, chaque soir. C'est le type même d'intercession que fait Christ, en permanence, pour Son église. Bien qu'Il se soit offert Lui-même en sacrifice une fois pour toutes, cette intercession de notre Sauveur est une offrande continuelle. Cela nous enseigne à offrir également à Dieu des sacrifices spirituels, à savoir, nos prières et nos louanges quotidiennes, matin et soir. Notre culte journalier est notre occupation quotidienne la plus utile, celle qui nous apporte le plus d'agrément. Un temps doit être réservé à la prière, comme nous le faisons quotidiennement pour nos repas.

Ceux qui ne s'approchent pas chaque jour du Trône de la Grâce, privent leur âme de nourriture ; la constance dans la piété ne mène qu'au bien-être spirituel de notre être.

      3 You shall tell them, 'This is the offering made by fire which you shall offer to Yahweh: male lambs a year old without blemish, two day by day, for a continual burnt offering.
      4 You shall offer the one lamb in the morning, and you shall offer the other lamb at evening;
      5 with the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a meal offering, mixed with the fourth part of a hin of beaten oil.
      6 It is a continual burnt offering, which was ordained in Mount Sinai for a pleasant aroma, an offering made by fire to Yahweh.
      7 Its drink offering shall be the fourth part of a hin for the one lamb. You shall pour out a drink offering of strong drink to Yahweh in the holy place.
      8 The other lamb you shall offer at evening: as the meal offering of the morning, and as the drink offering of it, you shall offer it, an offering made by fire, of a pleasant aroma to Yahweh.
