1 Le SEIGNEUR m’a adressé sa parole. Il m’a dit :2 « Toi, l’homme, réponds ! Est-ce que le bois de la vigne est meilleur que tous les autres bois ? Est-ce que ses branches ont plus de valeur que celles des arbres de la forêt ?3 Est-ce qu’on prend son bois pour fabriquer quelque chose ? Est-ce qu’on peut en faire un crochet pour pendre un ustensile ?4 Non, il sert seulement à faire du feu. Et quand le feu a brûlé les deux bouts, le milieu du morceau de bois brûle aussi. Est-ce qu’il peut encore servir à quelque chose ?5 Quand il était entier, il ne servait à rien. Maintenant que le feu l’a complètement brûlé, est-ce qu’on peut en faire quelque chose ? Rien du tout !6 « Eh bien, voici ce que je dis, moi, le Seigneur DIEU : On préfère jeter au feu le bois de la vigne plutôt que le bois d’un arbre. De même, je brûlerai les habitants de Jérusalem.7 Je vais agir contre eux. Ils croient qu’ils sont sortis du feu, mais le feu les dévorera. Et quand j’agirai contre eux, vous saurez que le SEIGNEUR, c’est moi.8 Je ferai de leur pays un désert, parce qu’ils n’ont pas été fidèles envers moi. » Voilà ce que le Seigneur DIEU déclare. -

1 The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,2 Son of man, what is the vine tree more than any tree, the vine-branch which is among the trees of the forest?3 Shall wood be taken of it to make any work? or will men take a pin of it to hang any vessel thereon?4 Behold, it is cast into the fire for fuel; the fire has devoured both its ends, and its midst is burned: is it profitable for any work?5 Behold, when it was whole, it was meet for no work: how much less, when the fire has devoured it, and it is burned, shall it yet be meet for any work!6 Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: As the vine tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so will I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem.7 I will set my face against them; they shall go forth from the fire, but the fire shall devour them; and you shall know that I am Yahweh, when I set my face against them.8 I will make the land desolate, because they have committed a trespass, says the Lord Yahweh. -

1 וַיְהִ֥י דְבַר־יְהוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֹֽר׃2 בֶּן־אָדָ֕ם מַה־יִּֽהְיֶ֥ה עֵץ־הַגֶּ֖פֶן מִכָּל־עֵ֑ץ הַזְּמוֹרָ֕ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר הָיָ֖ה בַּעֲצֵ֥י הַיָּֽעַר׃3 הֲיֻקַּ֤ח מִמֶּ֙נּוּ֙ עֵ֔ץ לַעֲשׂ֖וֹת לִמְלָאכָ֑ה אִם־יִקְח֤וּ מִמֶּ֙נּוּ֙ יָתֵ֔ד לִתְל֥וֹת עָלָ֖יו כָּל־כֶּֽלִי׃4 הִנֵּ֥ה לָאֵ֖שׁ נִתַּ֣ן לְאָכְלָ֑ה אֵת֩ שְׁנֵ֨י קְצוֹתָ֜יו אָכְלָ֤ה הָאֵשׁ֙ וְתוֹכ֣וֹ נָחָ֔ר הֲיִצְלַ֖ח לִמְלָאכָֽה׃5 הִנֵּה֙ בִּֽהְיוֹת֣וֹ תָמִ֔ים לֹ֥א יֵֽעָשֶׂ֖ה לִמְלָאכָ֑ה אַ֣ף כִּי־אֵ֤שׁ אֲכָלַ֙תְהוּ֙ וַיֵּחָ֔ר וְנַעֲשָׂ֥ה ע֖וֹד לִמְלָאכָֽה׃6 לָכֵ֗ן כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר עֵץ־הַגֶּ֙פֶן֙ בְּעֵ֣ץ הַיַּ֔עַר אֲשֶׁר־נְתַתִּ֥יו לָאֵ֖שׁ לְאָכְלָ֑ה כֵּ֣ן נָתַ֔תִּי אֶת־יֹשְׁבֵ֖י יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃7 וְנָתַתִּ֤י אֶת־פָּנַי֙ בָּהֶ֔ם מֵהָאֵ֣שׁ יָצָ֔אוּ וְהָאֵ֖שׁ תֹּֽאכְלֵ֑ם וִֽידַעְתֶּם֙ כִּֽי־אֲנִ֣י יְהוָ֔ה בְּשׂוּמִ֥י אֶת־פָּנַ֖י בָּהֶֽם׃8 וְנָתַתִּ֥י אֶת־הָאָ֖רֶץ שְׁמָמָ֑ה יַ֚עַן מָ֣עֲלוּ מַ֔עַל נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֥י יְהוִֽה׃
