בֶּן־אָדָ֑ם שְׁתַּ֣יִם נָשִׁ֔ים בְּנ֥וֹת אֵם־אַחַ֖ת הָיֽוּ׃
3
וַתִּזְנֶ֣ינָה בְמִצְרַ֔יִם בִּנְעוּרֵיהֶ֖ן זָנ֑וּ שָׁ֚מָּה מֹעֲכ֣וּ שְׁדֵיהֶ֔ן וְשָׁ֣ם עִשּׂ֔וּ דַּדֵּ֖י בְּתוּלֵיהֶֽן׃

וּשְׁמוֹתָ֗ן אָהֳלָ֤ה הַגְּדוֹלָה֙ וְאָהֳלִיבָ֣ה אֲחוֹתָ֔הּ וַתִּֽהְיֶ֣ינָה לִ֔י וַתֵּלַ֖דְנָה בָּנִ֣ים וּבָנ֑וֹת וּשְׁמוֹתָ֕ן שֹׁמְר֣וֹן אָהֳלָ֔ה וִירוּשָׁלִַ֖ם אָהֳלִיבָֽה׃

וַתִּ֥זֶן אָהֳלָ֖ה תַּחְתָּ֑י וַתַּעְגַּב֙ עַֽל־מְאַהֲבֶ֔יהָ אֶל־אַשּׁ֖וּר קְרוֹבִֽים׃
6
לְבֻשֵׁ֤י תְכֵ֙לֶת֙ פַּח֣וֹת וּסְגָנִ֔ים בַּח֥וּרֵי חֶ֖מֶד כֻּלָּ֑ם פָּרָשִׁ֕ים רֹכְבֵ֖י סוּסִֽים׃

וַתִּתֵּ֤ן תַּזְנוּתֶ֙יהָ֙ עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם מִבְחַ֥ר בְּנֵֽי־אַשּׁ֖וּר כֻּלָּ֑ם וּבְכֹ֧ל אֲשֶׁר־עָֽגְבָ֛ה בְּכָל־גִּלּוּלֵיהֶ֖ם נִטְמָֽאָה׃

וְאֶת־תַּזְנוּתֶ֤יהָ מִמִּצְרַ֙יִם֙ לֹ֣א עָזָ֔בָה כִּ֤י אוֹתָהּ֙ שָׁכְב֣וּ בִנְעוּרֶ֔יהָ וְהֵ֥מָּה עִשּׂ֖וּ דַּדֵּ֣י בְתוּלֶ֑יהָ וַיִּשְׁפְּכ֥וּ תַזְנוּתָ֖ם עָלֶֽיהָ׃

לָכֵ֥ן נְתַתִּ֖יהָ בְּיַד־מְאַֽהֲבֶ֑יהָ בְּיַד֙ בְּנֵ֣י אַשּׁ֔וּר אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָגְבָ֖ה עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃

הֵמָּה֮ גִּלּ֣וּ עֶרְוָתָהּ֒ בָּנֶ֤יהָ וּבְנוֹתֶ֙יהָ֙ לָקָ֔חוּ וְאוֹתָ֖הּ בַּחֶ֣רֶב הָרָ֑גוּ וַתְּהִי־שֵׁם֙ לַנָּשִׁ֔ים וּשְׁפוּטִ֖ים עָ֥שׂוּ בָֽהּ׃

וַתֵּ֙רֶא֙ אֲחוֹתָ֣הּ אָהֳלִיבָ֔ה וַתַּשְׁחֵ֥ת עַגְבָתָ֖הּ מִמֶּ֑נָּה וְאֶת־תַּ֨זְנוּתֶ֔יהָ מִזְּנוּנֵ֖י אֲחוֹתָֽהּ׃

אֶל־בְּנֵי֩ אַשּׁ֨וּר עָגָ֜בָה פַּח֨וֹת וּסְגָנִ֤ים קְרֹבִים֙ לְבֻשֵׁ֣י מִכְל֔וֹל פָּרָשִׁ֖ים רֹכְבֵ֣י סוּסִ֑ים בַּח֥וּרֵי חֶ֖מֶד כֻּלָּֽם׃
13
וָאֵ֖רֶא כִּ֣י נִטְמָ֑אָה דֶּ֥רֶךְ אֶחָ֖ד לִשְׁתֵּיהֶֽן׃
14
וַתּ֖וֹסֶף אֶל־תַּזְנוּתֶ֑יהָ וַתֵּ֗רֶא אַנְשֵׁי֙ מְחֻקֶּ֣ה עַל־הַקִּ֔יר צַלְמֵ֣י *כשדיים **כַשְׂדִּ֔ים חֲקֻקִ֖ים בַּשָּׁשַֽׁר׃
15
חֲגוֹרֵ֨י אֵז֜וֹר בְּמָתְנֵיהֶ֗ם סְרוּחֵ֤י טְבוּלִים֙ בְּרָ֣אשֵׁיהֶ֔ם מַרְאֵ֥ה שָׁלִשִׁ֖ים כֻּלָּ֑ם דְּמ֤וּת בְּנֵֽי־בָבֶל֙ כַּשְׂדִּ֔ים אֶ֖רֶץ מוֹלַדְתָּֽם׃
16
*ותעגב **וַתַּעְגְּבָ֥ה עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם לְמַרְאֵ֣ה עֵינֶ֑יהָ וַתִּשְׁלַ֧ח מַלְאָכִ֛ים אֲלֵיהֶ֖ם כַּשְׂדִּֽימָה׃
17
וַיָּבֹ֨אוּ אֵלֶ֤יהָ בְנֵֽי־בָבֶל֙ לְמִשְׁכַּ֣ב דֹּדִ֔ים וַיְטַמְּא֥וּ אוֹתָ֖הּ בְּתַזְנוּתָ֑ם וַתִּ֨טְמָא־בָ֔ם וַתֵּ֥קַע נַפְשָׁ֖הּ מֵהֶֽם׃
18
וַתְּגַל֙ תַּזְנוּתֶ֔יהָ וַתְּגַ֖ל אֶת־עֶרְוָתָ֑הּ וַתֵּ֤קַע נַפְשִׁי֙ מֵֽעָלֶ֔יהָ כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר נָקְעָ֥ה נַפְשִׁ֖י מֵעַ֥ל אֲחוֹתָֽהּ׃
19
וַתַּרְבֶּ֖ה אֶת־תַּזְנוּתֶ֑יהָ לִזְכֹּר֙ אֶת־יְמֵ֣י נְעוּרֶ֔יהָ אֲשֶׁ֥ר זָנְתָ֖ה בְּאֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃
20
וַֽתַּעְגְּבָ֔ה עַ֖ל פִּֽלַגְשֵׁיהֶ֑ם אֲשֶׁ֤ר בְּשַׂר־חֲמוֹרִים֙ בְּשָׂרָ֔ם וְזִרְמַ֥ת סוּסִ֖ים זִרְמָתָֽם׃

וַֽתִּפְקְדִ֔י אֵ֖ת זִמַּ֣ת נְעוּרָ֑יִךְ בַּעְשׂ֤וֹת מִמִּצְרַ֙יִם֙ דַּדַּ֔יִךְ לְמַ֖עַן שְׁדֵ֥י נְעוּרָֽיִךְ׃
22
לָכֵ֣ן אָהֳלִיבָ֗ה כֹּֽה־אָמַר֮ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִה֒ הִנְנִ֨י מֵעִ֤יר אֶת־מְאַהֲבַ֙יִךְ֙ עָלַ֔יִךְ אֵ֛ת אֲשֶׁר־נָקְעָ֥ה נַפְשֵׁ֖ךְ מֵהֶ֑ם וַהֲבֵאתִ֥ים עָלַ֖יִךְ מִסָּבִֽיב׃
23
בְּנֵ֧י בָבֶ֣ל וְכָל־כַּשְׂדִּ֗ים פְּק֤וֹד וְשׁ֙וֹעַ֙ וְק֔וֹעַ כָּל־בְּנֵ֥י אַשּׁ֖וּר אוֹתָ֑ם בַּח֨וּרֵי חֶ֜מֶד פַּח֤וֹת וּסְגָנִים֙ כֻּלָּ֔ם שָֽׁלִשִׁים֙ וּקְרוּאִ֔ים רֹכְבֵ֥י סוּסִ֖ים כֻּלָּֽם׃

וּבָ֣אוּ עָלַ֡יִךְ הֹ֠צֶן רֶ֤כֶב וְגַלְגַּל֙ וּבִקְהַ֣ל עַמִּ֔ים צִנָּ֤ה וּמָגֵן֙ וְקוֹבַ֔ע יָשִׂ֥ימוּ עָלַ֖יִךְ סָבִ֑יב וְנָתַתִּ֤י לִפְנֵיהֶם֙ מִשְׁפָּ֔ט וּשְׁפָט֖וּךְ בְּמִשְׁפְּטֵיהֶֽם׃

וְנָתַתִּ֨י קִנְאָתִ֜י בָּ֗ךְ וְעָשׂ֤וּ אוֹתָךְ֙ בְּחֵמָ֔ה אַפֵּ֤ךְ וְאָזְנַ֙יִךְ֙ יָסִ֔ירוּ וְאַחֲרִיתֵ֖ךְ בַּחֶ֣רֶב תִּפּ֑וֹל הֵ֗מָּה בָּנַ֤יִךְ וּבְנוֹתַ֙יִךְ֙ יִקָּ֔חוּ וְאַחֲרִיתֵ֖ךְ תֵּאָכֵ֥ל בָּאֵֽשׁ׃

וְהִפְשִׁיט֖וּךְ אֶת־בְּגָדָ֑יִךְ וְלָקְח֖וּ כְּלֵ֥י תִפְאַרְתֵּֽךְ׃
27
וְהִשְׁבַּתִּ֤י זִמָּתֵךְ֙ מִמֵּ֔ךְ וְאֶת־זְנוּתֵ֖ךְ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם וְלֹֽא־תִשְׂאִ֤י עֵינַ֙יִךְ֙ אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם וּמִצְרַ֖יִם לֹ֥א תִזְכְּרִי־עֽוֹד׃
28
כִּ֣י כֹ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה הִנְנִי֙ נֹֽתְנָ֔ךְ בְּיַ֖ד אֲשֶׁ֣ר שָׂנֵ֑את בְּיַ֛ד אֲשֶׁר־נָקְעָ֥ה נַפְשֵׁ֖ךְ מֵהֶֽם׃

וְעָשׂ֨וּ אוֹתָ֜ךְ בְּשִׂנְאָ֗ה וְלָקְחוּ֙ כָּל־יְגִיעֵ֔ךְ וַעֲזָב֖וּךְ עֵירֹ֣ם וְעֶרְיָ֑ה וְנִגְלָה֙ עֶרְוַ֣ת זְנוּנַ֔יִךְ וְזִמָּתֵ֖ךְ וְתַזְנוּתָֽיִךְ׃

עָשֹׂ֥ה אֵ֖לֶּה לָ֑ךְ בִּזְנוֹתֵךְ֙ אַחֲרֵ֣י גוֹיִ֔ם עַ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־נִטְמֵ֖את בְּגִלּוּלֵיהֶֽם׃
31
בְּדֶ֥רֶךְ אֲחוֹתֵ֖ךְ הָלָ֑כְתְּ וְנָתַתִּ֥י כוֹסָ֖הּ בְּיָדֵֽךְ׃
32
כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהֹוִ֔ה כּ֤וֹס אֲחוֹתֵךְ֙ תִּשְׁתִּ֔י הָעֲמֻקָּ֖ה וְהָרְחָבָ֑ה תִּהְיֶ֥ה לִצְחֹ֛ק וּלְלַ֖עַג מִרְבָּ֥ה לְהָכִֽיל׃
33
שִׁכָּר֥וֹן וְיָג֖וֹן תִּמָּלֵ֑אִי כּ֚וֹס שַׁמָּ֣ה וּשְׁמָמָ֔ה כּ֖וֹס אֲחוֹתֵ֥ךְ שֹׁמְרֽוֹן׃

וְשָׁתִ֨ית אוֹתָ֜הּ וּמָצִ֗ית וְאֶת־חֲרָשֶׂ֛יהָ תְּגָרֵ֖מִי וְשָׁדַ֣יִךְ תְּנַתֵּ֑קִי כִּ֚י אֲנִ֣י דִבַּ֔רְתִּי נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֥י יְהוִֽה׃
35
לָכֵ֗ן כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה יַ֚עַן שָׁכַ֣חַתְּ אוֹתִ֔י וַתַּשְׁלִ֥יכִי אוֹתִ֖י אַחֲרֵ֣י גַוֵּ֑ךְ וְגַם־אַ֛תְּ שְׂאִ֥י זִמָּתֵ֖ךְ וְאֶת־תַּזְנוּתָֽיִךְ׃

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהוָה֙ אֵלַ֔י בֶּן־אָדָ֕ם הֲתִשְׁפּ֥וֹט אֶֽת־אָהֳלָ֖ה וְאֶת־אָהֳלִיבָ֑ה וְהַגֵּ֣ד לָהֶ֔ן אֵ֖ת תוֹעֲבוֹתֵיהֶֽן׃
37
כִּ֣י נִאֵ֗פוּ וְדָם֙ בִּֽידֵיהֶ֔ן וְאֶת־גִּלּֽוּלֵיהֶ֖ן נִאֵ֑פוּ וְגַ֤ם אֶת־בְּנֵיהֶן֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יָֽלְדוּ־לִ֔י הֶעֱבִ֥ירוּ לָהֶ֖ם לְאָכְלָֽה׃
38
ע֥וֹד זֹ֖את עָ֣שׂוּ לִ֑י טִמְּא֤וּ אֶת־מִקְדָּשִׁי֙ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֔וּא וְאֶת־שַׁבְּתוֹתַ֖י חִלֵּֽלוּ׃
39
וּֽבְשַׁחֲטָ֤ם אֶת־בְּנֵיהֶם֙ לְגִלּ֣וּלֵיהֶ֔ם וַיָּבֹ֧אוּ אֶל־מִקְדָּשִׁ֛י בַּיּ֥וֹם הַה֖וּא לְחַלְּל֑וֹ וְהִנֵּה־כֹ֥ה עָשׂ֖וּ בְּת֥וֹךְ בֵּיתִֽי׃
40
וְאַ֗ף כִּ֤י תִשְׁלַ֙חְנָה֙ לַֽאֲנָשִׁ֔ים בָּאִ֖ים מִמֶּרְחָ֑ק אֲשֶׁ֨ר מַלְאָ֜ךְ שָׁל֤וּחַ אֲלֵיהֶם֙ וְהִנֵּה־בָ֔אוּ לַאֲשֶׁ֥ר רָחַ֛צְתְּ כָּחַ֥לְתְּ עֵינַ֖יִךְ וְעָ֥דִית עֶֽדִי׃
41
וְיָשַׁבְתְּ֙ עַל־מִטָּ֣ה כְבוּדָּ֔ה וְשֻׁלְחָ֥ן עָר֖וּךְ לְפָנֶ֑יהָ וּקְטָרְתִּ֥י וְשַׁמְנִ֖י שַׂ֥מְתְּ עָלֶֽיהָ׃
42
וְק֣וֹל הָמוֹן֮ שָׁלֵ֣ו בָהּ֒ וְאֶל־אֲנָשִׁים֙ מֵרֹ֣ב אָדָ֔ם מוּבָאִ֥ים *סובאים **סָבָאִ֖ים מִמִּדְבָּ֑ר וַֽיִּתְּנ֤וּ צְמִידִים֙ אֶל־יְדֵיהֶ֔ן וַעֲטֶ֥רֶת תִּפְאֶ֖רֶת עַל־רָאשֵׁיהֶֽן׃
43
וָאֹמַ֕ר לַבָּלָ֖ה נִֽאוּפִ֑ים *עת **עַתָּ֛ה *יזנה **יִזְנ֥וּ תַזְנוּתֶ֖הָ וָהִֽיא׃
44
וַיָּב֣וֹא אֵלֶ֔יהָ כְּב֖וֹא אֶל־אִשָּׁ֣ה זוֹנָ֑ה כֵּ֣ן בָּ֗אוּ אֶֽל־אָֽהֳלָה֙ וְאֶל־אָ֣הֳלִיבָ֔ה אִשֹּׁ֖ת הַזִּמָּֽה׃
45
וַאֲנָשִׁ֣ים צַדִּיקִ֗ם הֵ֚מָּה יִשְׁפְּט֣וּ אֽוֹתְהֶ֔ם מִשְׁפַּט֙ נֹֽאֲפ֔וֹת וּמִשְׁפַּ֖ט שֹׁפְכ֣וֹת דָּ֑ם כִּ֤י נֹֽאֲפֹת֙ הֵ֔נָּה וְדָ֖ם בִּֽידֵיהֶֽן׃
46
כִּ֛י כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֑ה הַעֲלֵ֤ה עֲלֵיהֶם֙ קָהָ֔ל וְנָתֹ֥ן אֶתְהֶ֖ן לְזַעֲוָ֥ה וְלָבַֽז׃
47
וְרָגְמ֨וּ עֲלֵיהֶ֥ן אֶ֙בֶן֙ קָהָ֔ל וּבָרֵ֥א אוֹתְהֶ֖ן בְּחַרְבוֹתָ֑ם בְּנֵיהֶ֤ם וּבְנֽוֹתֵיהֶם֙ יַהֲרֹ֔גוּ וּבָתֵּיהֶ֖ן בָּאֵ֥שׁ יִשְׂרֹֽפוּ׃
48
וְהִשְׁבַּתִּ֥י זִמָּ֖ה מִן־הָאָ֑רֶץ וְנִֽוַּסְּרוּ֙ כָּל־הַנָּשִׁ֔ים וְלֹ֥א תַעֲשֶׂ֖ינָה כְּזִמַּתְכֶֽנָה׃

וְנָתְנ֤וּ זִמַּתְכֶ֙נָה֙ עֲלֵיכֶ֔ן וַחֲטָאֵ֥י גִלּוּלֵיכֶ֖ן תִּשֶּׂ֑אינָה וִידַעְתֶּ֕ם כִּ֥י אֲנִ֖י אֲדֹנָ֥י יְהוִֽה׃

La parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée en ces termes :

Fils de l'homme, il y avait deux femmes, filles d'une même mère.

Elles se prostituèrent en Égypte ; elles se prostituèrent dans leur jeunesse ; là leurs mamelles furent pressées, leur sein virginal y fut flétri.

L'aînée se nommait Ohola et sa soeur Oholiba. Elles m'appartenaient, et enfantèrent des fils et des filles. Celle qui s'appelle Ohola, c'est Samarie, et Oholiba, c'est Jérusalem.

Ohola me fut infidèle, et s'éprit de ses amants, les Assyriens, ses voisins,

Vêtus de pourpre, gouverneurs et seigneurs, tous beaux jeunes hommes, des cavaliers montés sur des coursiers.

Elle commit adultère avec eux tous, l'élite des enfants d'Assur ; elle se souilla avec tous ceux dont elle s'était éprise, et avec toutes leurs idoles.

Elle n'a pas renoncé à ses prostitutions d'Égypte ; car ils avaient déshonoré sa jeunesse, flétri son sein virginal, et répandu sur elle la souillure.

C'est pourquoi je l'ai livrée aux mains de ses amants, aux mains des enfants d'Assur, dont elle s'était éprise.

Ils ont découvert sa nudité ; ils ont enlevé ses fils et ses filles, et l'ont fait périr elle-même par l'épée. Elle est devenue fameuse parmi les femmes, après les jugements exercés sur elle.
Jérusalem s'est prostituée

Sa soeur Oholiba avait vu cela ; néanmoins elle fut plus déréglée encore dans sa passion, et dans ses prostitutions elle a fait pire que sa soeur.

Elle s'éprit des enfants d'Assur, gouverneurs et seigneurs, ses voisins, magnifiquement vêtus, cavaliers montés sur des coursiers, tous beaux jeunes hommes.

Je vis qu'elle s'était souillée, et que toutes les deux suivaient la même voie.

Mais elle est allée plus loin encore dans ses prostitutions ; car elle vit des peintures d'hommes sur la muraille, des images de Caldéens peints en vermillon.

Ils portaient des ceintures autour de leurs reins, et sur leurs têtes des rubans flottants de diverses couleurs ; ils avaient tous l'aspect de nobles guerriers, portraits des enfants de Babylone en Caldée, leur pays natal.

Elle s'éprit d'eux, au premier regard de ses yeux, et leur envoya des messagers en Caldée.

Et les enfants de Babylone sont venus vers elle, pour partager la couche des amours, et ils l'ont souillée par leurs adultères ; elle aussi s'est souillée avec eux, puis son coeur s'est détaché d'eux.

Elle a mis à nu ses adultères ; elle a découvert sa nudité, et mon coeur s'est détaché d'elle, comme il s'était détaché de sa soeur ;
19
Car elle a multiplié ses prostitutions, en songeant aux jours de sa jeunesse, où elle s'était prostituée au pays d'Égypte.
20
Elle s'est éprise de ces débauchés dont la chair est comme la chair des ânes, et l'ardeur pareille à celle des chevaux.
Le châtiment de Jérusalem

Tu es retournée aux crimes de ta jeunesse, alors que les Égyptiens pressaient tes mamelles, à cause de ton sein virginal.
22
C'est pourquoi, Oholiba, ainsi a dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel : Voici, j'excite contre toi tes amants dont ton coeur s'est détaché ; je les amène de toute part contre toi :

Les enfants de Babylone et tous les Caldéens, chefs, princes et nobles, et tous les enfants d'Assur avec eux, de beaux jeunes hommes, tous gouverneurs et seigneurs, guerriers fameux, tous montés sur des coursiers.
24
Ils viennent contre toi avec des armes, des chars, de grands trains et une foule de peuples ; ils t'environnent de toute part avec des pavois, des boucliers, des casques ; je remets entre leurs mains le jugement ; ils te jugeront à leur façon.
25
Je donne libre cours à l'ardeur de ma jalousie contre toi, et ils te traiteront avec fureur ; ils te couperont le nez et les oreilles ; et ce qui restera de toi périra par l'épée ; ils enlèveront tes fils et tes filles, et ce qui restera de toi sera dévoré par le feu.

Ils te dépouilleront de tes vêtements, et enlèveront les ornements dont tu te pares.
27
Je mettrai un terme à tes infamies et à tes prostitutions du pays d'Égypte ; tu ne lèveras plus les yeux vers eux, et tu ne te souviendras plus de l'Égypte.
28
Car ainsi a dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel : Voici, je te livre aux mains de ceux que tu hais, aux mains de ceux dont ton coeur s'est détaché.
29
Ils te traiteront avec haine, ils t'enlèveront tout le fruit de tes labeurs ; ils te laisseront nue, entièrement nue, et aussi sera mise à découvert la honte de tes impudicités, de ton crime et de tes prostitutions.
30
On te fera ces choses, parce que tu t'es prostituée auprès des nations, que tu t'es souillée avec leurs idoles.
31
Tu as marché dans la voie de ta soeur, c'est pourquoi je mettrai sa coupe dans ta main.
32
Ainsi a dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel : Tu boiras la coupe de ta soeur, coupe profonde et large ; tu deviendras un objet de dérision et de moquerie ; grande est sa capacité.
33
Tu seras remplie d'ivresse et de douleur ; c'est une coupe de désolation et de stupeur que la coupe de ta soeur Samarie.

Tu la boiras, tu la videras, tu en rongeras les morceaux, et tu te déchireras le sein. Car j'ai parlé, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel.

C'est pourquoi ainsi a dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel : Parce que tu m'as mis en oubli, et que tu m'as rejeté derrière ton dos, porte donc aussi la peine de tes infamies et de tes adultères.
Dieu condamne Samarie et Jérusalem
36
Et l'Éternel me dit : Fils de l'homme, ne jugeras-tu pas Ohola. et Oholiba ? Mets sous leurs yeux leurs abominations.
37
Elles ont commis adultère, et il y a du sang à leurs mains ; elles ont commis adultère avec leurs idoles ; et même, les enfants qu'elles ont enfantés, elles les ont fait passer par le feu pour être dévorés !
38
Voici ce qu'elles m'ont encore fait : en un même jour, elles ont souillé mon sanctuaire et profané mes sabbats ;
39
Après avoir immolé leurs enfants à leurs idoles, elles sont entrées le même jour dans mon sanctuaire pour le profaner ! Voilà ce qu'elles ont fait au milieu de ma maison.
40
Bien plus, elles ont fait chercher des hommes venant d'un pays éloigné ; elles leur ont envoyé des messagers, et voici, ils sont venus. Pour eux tu t'es lavée, tu as fardé ton visage, et tu t'es parée d'ornements.
41
Tu t'es assise sur un lit magnifique, devant lequel était dressée une table, et où tu as placé mon parfum et mon huile de senteur.
42
Là on entendait le bruit d'une multitude joyeuse ; et parmi cette foule d'hommes, on a fait venir des Sabéens du désert, qui ont mis des bracelets aux mains des deux soeurs, et de magnifiques couronnes sur leur tête.
43
Et je dis, touchant celle qui avait vieilli dans l'adultère : Continueront-ils maintenant leurs impudicités avec elle, et elle avec eux ?
44
Et l'on est venu chez elle, comme l'on va chez une prostituée ; c'est ainsi qu'on est allé vers Ohola et Oholiba, ces femmes coupables.
45
Mais des hommes justes les jugeront comme on juge des femmes adultères, comme on juge celles qui répandent le sang, car elles sont adultères et il y a du sang à leurs mains.
46
C'est pourquoi, ainsi a dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel : Je ferai monter contre elles une multitude, et les livrerai à l'insulte et au pillage.
47
Et cette multitude les assommera à coups de pierres, et les taillera en pièces par l'épée ; ils égorgeront leurs fils et leurs filles ; ils brûleront leurs maisons par le feu.

Ainsi je mettrai fin aux infamies dans le pays, et toutes les femmes apprendront à ne point imiter vos désordres.
49
On fera retomber sur vous-mêmes vos infamies ; vous porterez la peine de vos péchés d'idolâtrie, et vous saurez que je suis le Seigneur, l'Éternel.

The word of Yahweh came again to me, saying,

Son of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother:
3
and they played the prostitute in Egypt; they played the prostitute in their youth; there were their breasts pressed, and there was handled the bosom of their virginity.
4
Their names were Oholah the elder, and Oholibah her sister: and they became mine, and they bore sons and daughters. As for their names, Samaria is Oholah, and Jerusalem Oholibah.
5
Oholah played the prostitute when she was mine; and she doted on her lovers, on the Assyrians [her] neighbors,
6
who were clothed with blue, governors and rulers, all of them desirable young men, horsemen riding on horses.
7
She bestowed her prostitution on them, the choicest men of Assyria all of them; and on whoever she doted, with all their idols she defiled herself.
8
Neither has she left her prostitution since [the days of] Egypt; for in her youth they lay with her, and they handled the bosom of her virginity; and they poured out their prostitution on her.
9
Therefore I delivered her into the hand of her lovers, into the hand of the Assyrians, on whom she doted.
10
These uncovered her nakedness; they took her sons and her daughters; and her they killed with the sword: and she became a byword among women; for they executed judgments on her.
Jérusalem s'est prostituée
11
Her sister Oholibah saw this, yet was she more corrupt in her doting than she, and in her prostitution which were more than the prostitution of her sister.
12
She doted on the Assyrians, governors and rulers, [her] neighbors, clothed most gorgeously, horsemen riding on horses, all of them desirable young men.
13
I saw that she was defiled; they both took one way.
14
She increased her prostitution; for she saw men portrayed on the wall, the images of the Chaldeans portrayed with vermilion,
15
dressed with girdles on their waists, with flowing turbans on their heads, all of them princes to look on, after the likeness of the Babylonians in Chaldea, the land of their birth.
16
As soon as she saw them she doted on them, and sent messengers to them into Chaldea.
17
The Babylonians came to her into the bed of love, and they defiled her with their prostitution, and she was polluted with them, and her soul was alienated from them.
18
So she uncovered her prostitution, and uncovered her nakedness: then my soul was alienated from her, like as my soul was alienated from her sister.
19
Yet she multiplied her prostitution, remembering the days of her youth, in which she had played the prostitute in the land of Egypt.
20
She doted on their paramours, whose flesh is as the flesh of donkeys, and whose issue is like the issue of horses.
Le châtiment de Jérusalem
21
Thus you called to memory the lewdness of your youth, in the handling of your bosom by the Egyptians for the breasts of your youth.
22
Therefore, Oholibah, thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I will raise up your lovers against you, from whom your soul is alienated, and I will bring them against you on every side:
23
the Babylonians and all the Chaldeans, Pekod and Shoa and Koa, [and] all the Assyrians with them; desirable young men, governors and rulers all of them, princes and men of renown, all of them riding on horses.
24
They shall come against you with weapons, chariots, and wagons, and with a company of peoples; they shall set themselves against you with buckler and shield and helmet all around; and I will commit the judgment to them, and they shall judge you according to their judgments.
25
I will set my jealousy against you, and they shall deal with you in fury; they shall take away your nose and your ears; and your residue shall fall by the sword: they shall take your sons and your daughters; and your residue shall be devoured by the fire.
26
They shall also strip you of your clothes, and take away your beautiful jewels.
27
Thus will I make your lewdness to cease from you, and your prostitution [brought] from the land of Egypt; so that you shall not lift up your eyes to them, nor remember Egypt any more.
28
For thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I will deliver you into the hand of them whom you hate, into the hand of them from whom your soul is alienated;
29
and they shall deal with you in hatred, and shall take away all your labor, and shall leave you naked and bare; and the nakedness of your prostitution shall be uncovered, both your lewdness and your prostitution.
30
These things shall be done to you, because you have played the prostitute after the nations, and because you are polluted with their idols.
31
You have walked in the way of your sister; therefore will I give her cup into your hand.
32
Thus says the Lord Yahweh: You will drink of your sister's cup, which is deep and large; you will be ridiculed and held in derision; it contains much.
33
You shall be filled with drunkenness and sorrow, with the cup of astonishment and desolation, with the cup of your sister Samaria.
34
You shall even drink it and drain it out, and you shall gnaw the broken pieces of it, and shall tear your breasts; for I have spoken it, says the Lord Yahweh.
35
Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because you have forgotten me, and cast me behind your back, therefore you also bear your lewdness and your prostitution.
Dieu condamne Samarie et Jérusalem
36
Yahweh said moreover to me: Son of man, will you judge Oholah and Oholibah? then declare to them their abominations.
37
For they have committed adultery, and blood is in their hands; and with their idols have they committed adultery; and they have also caused their sons, whom they bore to me, to pass through [the fire] to them to be devoured.
38
Moreover this they have done to me: they have defiled my sanctuary in the same day, and have profaned my Sabbaths.
39
For when they had slain their children to their idols, then they came the same day into my sanctuary to profane it; and behold, thus have they done in the midst of my house.
40
Furthermore you have sent for men who come from far, to whom a messenger was sent, and behold, they came; for whom you did wash yourself, paint your eyes, and decorate yourself with ornaments,
41
and sit on a stately bed, with a table prepared before it, whereupon you set my incense and my oil.
42
The voice of a multitude being at ease was with her: and with men of the common sort were brought drunkards from the wilderness; and they put bracelets on their hands [twain], and beautiful crowns on their heads.
43
Then I said of her who was old in adulteries, Now will they play the prostitute with her, and she [with them].
44
They went in to her, as they go in to a prostitute: so went they in to Oholah and to Oholibah, the lewd women.
45
Righteous men, they shall judge them with the judgment of adulteresses, and with the judgment of women who shed blood; because they are adulteresses, and blood is in their hands.
46
For thus says the Lord Yahweh: I will bring up a company against them, and will give them to be tossed back and forth and robbed.
47
The company shall stone them with stones, and dispatch them with their swords; they shall kill their sons and their daughters, and burn up their houses with fire.
48
Thus will I cause lewdness to cease out of the land, that all women may be taught not to do after your lewdness.
49
They shall recompense your lewdness on you, and you shall bear the sins of your idols; and you shall know that I am the Lord Yahweh.
