Ezéchiel 36.1-38

Segond 21 Je démontrerai la sainteté de mon grand nom qui a été déshonoré parmi les nations, puisque vous l’avez déshonoré au milieu d'elles, et les nations reconnaîtront que je suis l'Eternel, déclare le Seigneur, l'Eternel, quand à travers vous je manifesterai ma sainteté sous leurs yeux.

Je sanctifierai mon grand nom. Il le fera resplendir aux yeux des hommes dans sa sainte majesté par trois œuvres successives :

  • le retour de son peuple en Canaan, verset 24
  • sa conversion pafaite à Dieu, versets 25 à 28
  • l'état glorieux de la Terre Sainte qui couronnera cette double œuvre extérieure et intérieure, versets 29 à 32.

En vous, à vos yeux. Il n'est pas nécessaire de modifier le texte pour traduire : à leurs yeux (ceux des nations). Chacun contemplera l'œuvre de sainteté accomplie chez ses frères, comparez Esaïe 29.23.
