Jérémie 49.16

Ta fierté, l'arrogance de ton coeur, t'a séduit, toi qui demeures dans les creux du rocher, et qui t'es emparé du haut de la colline. Quand tu élèverais ton nid comme l'aigle, je te ferai descendre de là, dit l'Éternel.

World English Bible As for your terror, the pride of your heart has deceived you, O you who dwell in the clefts of the rock, who hold the height of the hill: though you should make your nest as high as the eagle, I will bring you down from there, says Yahweh.

Malheur à toi ! Littéralement : Ta terreur !...

Dans les gorges du rocher : le mot qui signifie rocher (Séla) est une allusion au nom de l'une des villes principales d'Edom, Séla ou Pétra, qui était taillée dans le roc. Comparez Abdias 1.3-4 ; Esaïe 16.1, note.
