N'est-ce pas toi... ? Job sait bien ce qu'il a fait en cultivant ton amitié. Voilà les inconvénients de la toute-puissance : tu n'as en lui qu'un adorateur intéressé.

Entouré d'une haie, pour le préserver.

Couvrent le pays, littéralement : ont envahi le pays, ont fait irruption partout.

Notre verset montre que c'est à tort qu'on a souvent reproché à l'Ancien Testament de se contenter d'une piété extérieure.
