Alors tous les enfants d'Israël sortirent, depuis Dan jusqu'à Béer-Shéba, et jusqu'au pays de Galaad ; et l'assemblée se réunit comme si ce n'eût été qu'un seul homme, devant l'Éternel, à Mitspa.

La tribu de Benjamin presque totalement détruite.

- L'aversion des Israélites vis-à-vis du crime odieux perpétré à Guibea, et leur volonté de tuer les criminels étaient tout à fait normales ; mais ils prirent cette décision avec un cœur rempli de haine, sans vraiment maîtriser leurs actes.

Dans l'au-delà, la ruine éternelle des âmes sera pire, sans commune mesure avec cette désolation qui régnait alors, au sein des tribus d'Israël !
