14 à 17 Le sacrifice pour le péché.

Ce sacrifice ne fut pas offert dans ce cas, comme dans la règle, pour expier un péché particulier d'Aaron ou de ses fils, mais pour réveiller profondément dans leur cœur ce sentiment que, pécheurs comme ils l'étaient, et avant de pouvoir fonctionner comme sacrificateurs, ils devaient être purifiés par le sang. Comparez Nombres 8.8-12 (consécration des Lévites). Ce sacrifice fut répété tous les jours de cette semaine sainte.

Le taureau : c'était la victime la plus considérable (1.3 ; 4.3). Elle convenait seule pour les médiateurs entre Dieu et le peuple.

Dans toutes ces cérémonies, nous pouvons discerner les symboles représentant notre « grand Sacrificateur », Jésus-Christ : Il a été désigné, oint et ordonné « Sacrificateur » par Son sang, par la vertu du Saint-Esprit. Jésus a ainsi sanctifié tout ce qui concerne les ordonnances de la chrétienté, pour le bénéfice de Son peuple et pour l'honneur de Dieu le Père ; malgré le fait que nous soyons pollués par le péché, Jésus nous accepte, afin que nous Lui apportions notre adoration.

Nous pouvons également nous réjouir en ce « grand Sacrificateur » fidèle et miséricordieux, plein de compassion pour les âmes rejetées et égarées. Tous les véritables chrétiens sont appelés à devenir des « sacrificateurs spirituels ».

Nous devons sérieusement nous demander si nous veillons, dans nos tâches quotidiennes, à accomplir ce type de service. Est-ce que nous abondons dans les « sacrifices spirituels », acceptables par Dieu, au travers de Jésus-Christ ?

S'il en est ainsi, ne cherchons pas à nous vanter de quoi que ce soit. N'oublions pas nos compagnons qui sont toujours sous l'emprise du péché ; rappelons-nous tout notre cheminement dans la repentance, comment nous avons été sauvés ! Prions et recherchons le salut des âmes perdues !
