Et alors (terme qui marque la profession du mal), la persécution et la haine du dehors produiront leurs ravages dans l'Eglise même : beaucoup seront scandalisés, c'est-à-dire, retomberont dans l'incrédulité, (comparez Matthieu 13.21) et, devenus infidèles, ils livreront leurs frères à leurs ennemis ; et cela aura pour résultat qu'ils se haïront les uns les autres. Effroyable progression dans ces trois termes.
