Et nous apporterons. La construction de la période est brisée ; au lieu d'infinitifs nous avons à partir d'ici le futur. Le sujet n'est plus le même : il ne s'agit plus d'engagements pris par tout le peuple vis-à-vis de Dieu, mais d'engagements pris par les laïques vis-à-vis des sacrificateurs et des Lévites.

Le meilleur : non plus, comme au verset 35, les premiers fruits mûrs, mais les plus beaux produits.

Moutures : Nombres 15.20.

Offrandes : prélèvement fait entre autres sur le froment et sur l'orge (Ezéchiel 45.13). La meilleure partie de cette offrande était pour les sacrificateurs (Néhémie 13.5), le reste pour d'autres usages sacrés (gâteaux, etc.).

Fruit de tout arbre. Outre et après les prémices (verset 5), un premier choix en était encore prélevé pour les sacrificateurs.

Moût... huile : voir Nombres 18.12.

Dans les chambres de la maison de notre Dieu, (voir verset 38 et 13.5) : d'où on les tirait au fur et à mesure des besoins. Voir pour versets 36 et 37 Nombres 18.8-19, et Ezéchiel 44.30.

Aux Lévites : Lévitique 27.30 ; Nombres 18.27.

Les Lévites eux-mêmes prélèveront. Les redevances dues aux sacrificateurs étaient apportées par les Israélites à Jérusalem. La dîme due aux Lévites leur était livrée sur place, et c'était à eux qu'incombait le soin de transporter la dîme de cette dîme au temple. Les mots qui suivent : dans toutes nos villes rurales, ne se comprendraient pas si l'on traduisait, en anticipant sur le verset. suivant : Les Lévites eux-mêmes paieront (aux sacrificateurs) la dîme de la dîme qu'ils ont reçue.
