Les jugements. Le mot ainsi rendu désigne toujours les sentences prononcées par Dieu, bien que parfois exécutées par les hommes (2Chroniques 24.24). Comme il s'agit ici de moqueurs, c'est-à-dire de gens qui ont jeté toute piété par-dessus bord, ce terme a une signification d'autant plus grande : les jugements par excellence, les plus redoutables.

Sont prêts : ils n'y échapperont pas.

Les coups sont les punitions humaines. Le sot ne se laisse pas redresser par les punitions que lui inflige la société et tombe entre les mains de la Providence.
