C'est bien de la gloire divine dans l'au-delà qu'il est question. Le croyant s'empare, par la seule puissance de sa foi, de cette certitude que Dieu n'est pas le Dieu des morts, mais le Dieu des vivants (Luc 20.38), que la carrière d'un homme qui marche avec lui ne peut aboutir qu'à la gloire et que le séjour de cette gloire est le ciel, où Dieu habite lui-même (verset 25).
