18 et 19

Les nuages..., le tonnerre..., la terre, sont de même personnifiés, comme autant d'agents concourant à l'œuvre divine ; toutes les forces de la nature sont appelées à servir Israël et à perdre ses ennemis.

Tes flèches : les éclairs. Voir Exode 14.24, note.

Dans le tourbillon. Le sens premier du mot hébreu galgal est : roue, et c'est le mot qu'emploient les anciens traducteurs : dans ou sous la roue ; il s'agirait des roues du char de l'Eternel. Comparez Habakuk 3.8. Cependant il est d'autres passages, entre autres Psaumes 83.14, où le mot hébreu signifie bien : tourbillon.
