Psaumes 94.12

12 à 15 Heureux l'homme que Dieu reprend !

Après avoir démontré la folie de ceux qui prêtent l'oreille aux dires des impies, le psalmiste se tourne vers les victimes de l'oppression des méchants, qui, elles, sont à une autre école : celle de Dieu.

Heureux l'homme que tu reprends... enseignes... Le psalmiste revient aux mêmes termes qu'il a employés au verset 10, en parlant des avertissements de la conscience ; mais ici il s'agit d'une éducation plus spéciale, à laquelle Dieu soumet, par sa parole, tous ceux de son peuple qui ne sont pas stupides (verset 8). La parole analogue d'Eliphaz (Job 5.17) se rapporte à l'enseignement qui vient de la souffrance elle-même. Le psalmiste parle ici de celui que Dieu donne par sa loi, par ses préceptes et ses commandements, et aussi par l'histoire des origines d'Israël, qui accompagne cette loi.

    • Deutéronome 8

      5 You shall consider in your heart that as a man chastens his son, so Yahweh your God chastens you.

      Job 5

      17 "Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects. Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.

      Job 33

      16 Then he opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction,
      17 That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.
      18 He keeps back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.
      19 He is chastened also with pain on his bed, with continual strife in his bones;
      20 So that his life abhors bread, and his soul dainty food.
      21 His flesh is so consumed away, that it can't be seen. His bones that were not seen stick out.
      22 Yes, his soul draws near to the pit, and his life to the destroyers.
      23 "If there is beside him an angel, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to show to man what is right for him;
      24 then God is gracious to him, and says, 'Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom.'
      25 His flesh shall be fresher than a child's. He returns to the days of his youth.

      Psaumes 94

      12 Blessed is the man whom you discipline, Yah, and teach out of your law;

      Psaumes 119

      67 Before I was afflicted, I went astray; but now I observe your word.
      71 It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I may learn your statutes.

      Proverbes 3

      11 My son, don't despise Yahweh's discipline, neither be weary of his reproof:
      12 for whom Yahweh loves, he reproves; even as a father reproves the son in whom he delights.

      Michée 6

      9 Yahweh's voice calls to the city, and wisdom sees your name: "Listen to the rod, and he who appointed it.

      1 Corinthiens 11

      32 But when we are judged, we are punished by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.

      Hébreux 12

      5 and you have forgotten the exhortation which reasons with you as with children, "My son, don't take lightly the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when you are reproved by him;
      6 For whom the Lord loves, he chastens, and scourges every son whom he receives."
      7 It is for discipline that you endure. God deals with you as with children, for what son is there whom his father doesn't discipline?
      8 But if you are without discipline, of which all have been made partakers, then are you illegitimate, and not children.
      9 Furthermore, we had the fathers of our flesh to chasten us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of spirits, and live?
      10 For they indeed, for a few days, punished us as seemed good to them; but he for our profit, that we may be partakers of his holiness.
      11 All chastening seems for the present to be not joyous but grievous; yet afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been exercised thereby.

      Apocalypse 3

      19 As many as I love, I reprove and chasten. Be zealous therefore, and repent.
