World English Bible Thus all the work that king Solomon worked in the house of Yahweh was finished. Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated, the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, and put them in the treasuries of the house of Yahweh.

Le butin d'or et d'argent que David avait consacré à des usages religieux (2Samuel 8.7,10-11) ne fut donc pas épuisé par la construction du temple et la confection de son mobilier. Salomon avait utilisé avant tout les dons volontaires de ses sujets (1Chroniques 29.7-9).

Et les ustensiles : non pas les vases sacrés dont on s'était servi pour le culte du Tabernacle, car ils ne seraient pas mis en relation particulière avec David, étant beaucoup plus vieux que lui ; mais les vases et en général les objets précieux pris sur l'ennemi et distincts de l'or et de l'argent monnayés.
