Anne : grâce, miséricorde.

Péninna : corail. La polygamie, quoique contraire à l'ordre établi de Dieu dès le commencement (Genèse 2.18,23), n'était pas interdite par la loi ; mais, comme l'esprit de la religion juive la condamnait, elle disparut peu à peu de la vie du peuple. Nous en voyons ici les fruits amers.
