L’attelage arriva au champ de Josué de Beth-Chémech et s’arrêta là à côté d’une grande pierre. On fendit le bois du chariot et l’on offrit les vaches en *holocaustes à l’Eternel.

World English Bible The cart came into the field of Joshua of Beth Shemesh, and stood there, where there was a great stone: and they split the wood of the cart, and offered up the cows for a burnt offering to Yahweh.

      14 The cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron even to Gath; and Israel recovered its border out of the hand of the Philistines. There was peace between Israel and the Amorites.
      15 Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life.
      16 He went from year to year in circuit to Bethel and Gilgal, and Mizpah; and he judged Israel in all those places.
      17 His return was to Ramah, for there was his house; and there he judged Israel: and he built there an altar to Yahweh.

      36 It happened at the time of the offering of the offering, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, "Yahweh, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that you are God in Israel, and that I am your servant, and that I have done all these things at your word.
      37 Hear me, Yahweh, hear me, that this people may know that you, Yahweh, are God, and that you have turned their heart back again."
      38 Then the fire of Yahweh fell, and consumed the burnt offering, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.
