Alors, je vis les sept anges qui se tiennent constamment devant Dieu, prêts à le servir. Sept trompettes leur furent données.

Comparer Luc 1.19 ; Matthieu 18.10. Les sept anges, à qui est donné l'attribut spécial de se tenir devant Dieu sont, comme l'indique l'article, sept anges qui occupent une position spéciale parmi les esprits célestes. (Tobie 12 : 15, comparez Daniel 10.13,1Thessaloniciens 4.16,Ephésiens 1.20,21 ; 3.10 ; 6.11 et suivants ; Colossiens 1.16)

La trompette servait à publier les grandes fêtes d'Israël, (Lévitique 25.9) ses réjouissances nationales et religieuses ; (2Samuel 6.15 ; 2Chroniques 5.12,13 ; 29.26-28) dans le langage des prophètes, elle annonce une révélation, une exhortation, un jugement de Dieu. (Esaïe 58.1 ; Osée 8.1 ; Joël 2.1)

Le son de la trompette inaugurera les dernières scènes du jour de Christ. (Matthieu 24.31 ; 1Corinthiens 15.52 ; 1Thessaloniciens 4.16) Ici les sept trompettes doivent annoncer de nouveaux jugements de Dieu. (Voir sur ce nombre sept, qui revient partout dans l'Apocalypse, Apocalypse 1.4, troisième note).

      2 "Make two trumpets of silver. You shall make them of beaten work. You shall use them for the calling of the congregation, and for the journeying of the camps.

      Apocalypse 9

      1 The fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star from the sky which had fallen to the earth. The key to the pit of the abyss was given to him.
