Ephésiens 5.20

εὐχαριστοῦντες πάντοτε ὑπὲρ πάντων ἐν ὀνόματι τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ τῷ θεῷ καὶ πατρί,

Si la joie n'est pas toujours dans le cœur, un autre sentiment, qui s'exprime aussi par le chant, ne doit jamais faire défaut, c'est la reconnaissance, qui pousse à l'action de grâce.

Celle-ci doit se produire toujours, pour toutes choses, même pour celles qui, au premier abord, sont des sujets de tristesse, parce que l'enfant de Dieu sait que toutes les dispensations de son Père céleste envers lui sont des pensées de paix et d'amour.

- Rendre grâce à Dieu notre Père (Grec : au Dieu et Père) au nom de Notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ, c'est se consacrer à Dieu, comme lui, en sacrifice vivant et saint, dans tout ce que l'on dit ou fait ; (Colossiens 3.17) c'est offrir à Dieu par Christ tout ce que l'on a reçu de lui en Christ, comme si Christ lui-même bénissait Dieu en nous, par la puissance de sa Rédemption et de son Esprit.

Selon l'Ecriture le chrétien est devant Dieu identifié avec son Sauveur, en sorte que tous ses rapports avec Dieu, le pardon, la réconciliation, la prière, l'action de grâce, la confiance, l'amour ont Christ pour Médiateur.
