Expression d'un doute : Israël pourra-t-il réellement être arraché à ses oppresseurs ? Jésus fait probablement allusion à ce passage d'Esaïe, quand il parle de l'homme fort auquel son butin est enlevé par l'homme plus fort (Luc 11.21).

Autrefois, sous l'emprise du péché, nous étions, selon la Justice divine, des « captifs légitimes », avant d'avoir été rachetés un Prix d'une valeur inestimable.

Ce texte mentionne une promesse bien précise : « La capture du puissant lui sera enlevée ». Nous pouvons voir ici Satan, privé de sa proie, et précipité ensuite dans le « puits de l'abîme » ; toutes les puissances qui ont contribué à l'asservissement, à la persécution, ou à la corruption de l'église, seront détruites ; toute la terre saura alors que notre Sauveur et Rédempteur est Jéhovah, le « Puissant de Jacob ». Toute tentative effectuée pour sauver de la perdition et de la servitude de Satan, notre prochain qui vit dans le péché, est, en quelque sorte, une « aide » qui lui évitera de connaître cette fin redoutable.
