Ne dites point... L'exhortation s'adresse à Esaïe et aux fidèles qui l'entourent (verset 16).

Ce que ce peuple appelle conjuration. Le peuple a tremblé à la nouvelle de l'alliance de la Syrie et d'Ephraïm ; le prophète ne s'en est pas ému (7.2-7) : il ne peut y avoir, contre Juda, de conjuration efficace, puisque Dieu est avec lui.
