Exode 23.6

Tu ne feras pas fléchir le jugement de ton indigent dans son procès.

Le texte dit : ton indigent : l'indigent de ton peuple (verset 11). Ce petit mot ton a son intention et son éloquence.

Le verset 3 défendait de favoriser par pitié le faible, celui qui n'est pas soutenu par la faveur populaire ; le verset 6 défend de refuser de rendre justice à l'indigent. Le juge ne doit se laisser influencer ni en bien ni en mal par la faiblesse ou la pauvreté de la partie en cause.
