World English Bible But as for them whose heart walks after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will bring their way on their own heads, says the Lord Yahweh.

C'est ici un dernier avertissement à la portion du peuple restée en Juda et qui continue son train d'idolâtrie.

Vers le cœur de leurs idoles. On a suspecté ce texte ; mais rien n'empêche qu'Ezéchiel ne prête aux idoles une vie personnelle. Il sentait plus fortement en Babylone, la puissance du courant spirituel qui émanait de chacune de ces divinités imaginaires, et il opposait cette action malfaisante au souffle sanctifiant qui procède du cœur du vrai Dieu.
