Dis à ces gens qui mettent du crépi, que le mur tombera. Une pluie torrentielle s’abattra soudain, les grêlons tomberont, un vent d’ouragan éclatera,
אֱמֹ֛ר אֶל־טָחֵ֥י תָפֵ֖ל וְיִפֹּ֑ל הָיָ֣ה ׀ גֶּ֣שֶׁם שׁוֹטֵ֗ף וְאַתֵּ֜נָה אַבְנֵ֤י אֶלְגָּבִישׁ֙ תִּפֹּ֔לְנָה וְר֥וּחַ סְעָר֖וֹת תְּבַקֵּֽעַ׃
Dis à ceux qui le recouvrent de mortier, qu'il s'écroulera. Une pluie violente surviendra, et vous, grêlons, vous tomberez, et un vent de tempête éclatera.

A la parole de Jéhova, une inondation commence par miner le mur (première et seconde déportation). Puis en un clin d'œil l'ouragan achève de le faire crouler ; c'est l'emblème de la ruine finale.
