14 à 18 La contre-partie de l'exemple précédent : le petit-fils juste que l'injustice de son père ne perd point.

L'histoire des rois de Juda offre des exemples de ces oppositions tranchées entre des générations qui se succèdent et peut-être le prophète a-t-il ces faits frappants devant les yeux. L'impie Achaz, fils du pieux Jotham fut père de l'un des meilleurs rois de Juda, Ezéchias. Celui-ci eut pour fils l'impie et cruel Manassé, qui eut pour fils Amon, aussi mauvais que son père, mais pour petit-fils Josias, l'un des plus excellents rois de Juda.
