Ezéchiel motive dans les derniers mots la sentence de destruction formulée au verset 8.

Un appui de roseau : un appui qui n'est pas plus solide que celui que prête un roseau. Cette image est empruntée aussi aux circonstances physiques de l'Egypte : les bords du Nil sont tout couverts de roseaux. Pour le sens, voir l'introdruction de ce chapitre et Esaïe 36.6.
