Grec : Près de la malédiction, de laquelle le terme est pour combustion.

Avec Rilliet, de Wette, Weiss, von Soden, nous rapportons le pronom relatif à malédiction, ce qu'exige l'expression : terme, but, fin.

D'autres rattachent ce relatif à terre (Hébreux 6.7) et traduisent : "Sa fin est d'être brûlée," ou : "L'on finit par y mettre le feu." (Oltramare, Stapfer, Segond.)

Transparente parabole, destinée à rendre plus saisissantes encore les paroles précédentes, et qui du reste s'explique et s'applique d'elle-même.
