World English Bible They will put you out of the synagogues. Yes, the time comes that whoever kills you will think that he offers service to God.

Etre exclu ou banni de la synagogue, c'était, chez les Juifs, l'excommunication. (Jean 9.22, notes ; comparez Jean 12.42)

Grec : quiconque vous tuera croira offrir à Dieu un culte d'offrande. Cette idée d'offrande est exprimée par le verbe grec que nous rendons par offrir.

Elle est tout à fait d'accord avec le principe rabbinique qu'on lit dans le Talmud : "Quiconque répand le sang des impies est égal à celui qui fait un sacrifice." Cet aveugle fanatisme se manifesta dès le temps des apôtres (Actes 8.1,3) et se retrouve dans toutes les persécutions qui ont été entreprises au nom et pour la gloire de Dieu !

      Actes 8
