Amon de No... Ammon, la principale divinité de la Haute-Egypte, dieu du soleil, que les Grecs ont comparé à Jupiter et qui était adoré surtout dans la ville de No-Amon (demeure d'Ammon, Nahum 3.8), appelée par les Grecs Diospolis ou la Thèbes aux cent portes. Ses ruines immenses font l'étonnement des voyageurs.

Pharaon. Le nom du roi est mentionné une première fois dans l'énumération de toutes les puissances de l'Egypte ; puis il est répété une seconde fois, afin de le rapprocher de ceux qui ont mis follement en lui leur confiance, à savoir les Juifs et tous les petits Etats de l'Asie occidentale.
