Béthel, Luz. Ces deux localités, confondues en une seule 18.13, étaient cependant distinctes. quoique très voisines l'une de l'autre (Genèse 28.19, note). Luz était un peu à l'ouest de Béthel.

Archites. Chusaï, l'ami de David, était Archite (2Samuel 15.32). Il existe un village du nom d'Arki à 4 km au nord de la Haute Beth-Horon.

Ataroth (couronnes, anneaux), nom fréquent. Nous en avons trouvé une à l'est de la mer Morte (Nombres 32.34,3). Celle-ci, qui au verset 5 et 18.13 porte le surnom distinctif d'Addar (magnifique), est maintenant Atara, près de la Basse Beth-Horon ; voir une troisième Ataroth, verset 7.
