Ce verset montre comment ce résultat n'est pas incompatible avec les circonstances fâcheuses qui peuvent. atteindre une famille, pourvu que des sentiments d'équité règnent parmi le peuple. Le sol ne se vend jamais ; c'est la propriété de Dieu. L'Israélite ne peut aliéner que les récoltes. Le prix d'achat augmente ou diminue par conséquent avec le nombre des années qui séparent l'année de la vente de celle du jubilé. Agir autrement, ce serait, en lésant le droit du prochain, offenser Dieu qui lui a donné ce sol.
