15 et 16 Premier cas : infidélité dans les choses saintes ; à elles, comme de juste, la première place. Il s'agit ici d'un tort fait involontairement à l'Eternel, en la personne des sacrificateurs, lors du paiement des dîmes, des prémices ou des redevances quelconques en rapport avec le culte.

Un bélier assez grand (deux ans, dit le Talmud) pour valoir des sicles, ne fût-ce que deux.

Evalué par toi. Deux sens possibles : dont la valeur soit à tes yeux en rapport avec la grandeur de l'infidélité commise, ou bien plutôt : qui te semble valoir au moins deux sicles. Le choix de la victime uniformément prescrite pour le sacrifice de réparation est bien celui qu'on peut attendre de la plus haute antiquité, où les béliers étaient une espèce de monnaie. Les tributs se payaient souvent en moutons (2Rois 3.4 etc.), comme les amendes aujourd'hui encore chez les Arabes. Chez les anciens Romains, à défaut d'argent monnayé, on condamnait certains coupables à s'acquitter au moyen de moutons ou de veaux, et l'on tenait à ce que ce fussent des mâles. Plus tard, les premières monnaies portèrent en effigie des moutons ou des veaux. Numa Pompilius statua que le meurtrier involontaire donnerait aux enfants de sa victime un bélier.

      20 If he will not redeem the field, or if he has sold the field to another man, it shall not be redeemed any more;
      21 but the field, when it goes out in the Jubilee, shall be holy to Yahweh, as a field devoted; it shall be owned by the priests.
      22 "'If he dedicates to Yahweh a field which he has bought, which is not of the field of his possession,
      23 then the priest shall reckon to him the worth of your valuation up to the Year of Jubilee; and he shall give your valuation on that day, as a holy thing to Yahweh.
      24 In the Year of Jubilee the field shall return to him from whom it was bought, even to him to whom the possession of the land belongs.
      25 All your valuations shall be according to the shekel of the sanctuary: twenty gerahs to the shekel.
      26 "'Only the firstborn among animals, which is made a firstborn to Yahweh, no man may dedicate it; whether an ox or sheep, it is Yahweh's.
      27 If it is an unclean animal, then he shall buy it back according to your valuation, and shall add to it the fifth part of it: or if it isn't redeemed, then it shall be sold according to your valuation.
      28 "'Notwithstanding, no devoted thing, that a man shall devote to Yahweh of all that he has, whether of man or animal, or of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: every devoted thing is most holy to Yahweh.
      29 "'No one devoted, who shall be devoted from among men, shall be ransomed; he shall surely be put to death.
      30 "'All the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the trees, is Yahweh's. It is holy to Yahweh.
      31 If a man redeems anything of his tithe, he shall add a fifth part to it.
      32 All the tithe of the herds or the flocks, whatever passes under the rod, the tenth shall be holy to Yahweh.
      33 He shall not search whether it is good or bad, neither shall he change it: and if he changes it at all, then both it and that for which it is changed shall be holy. It shall not be redeemed.'"

      16 You shall redeem those who are to be redeemed of them from a month old, according to your estimation, for five shekels of money, after the shekel of the sanctuary (the same is twenty gerahs).
      17 "But you shall not redeem the firstborn of a cow, or the firstborn of a sheep, or the firstborn of a goat. They are holy. You shall sprinkle their blood on the altar, and shall burn their fat for an offering made by fire, for a pleasant aroma to Yahweh.
      18 Their flesh shall be yours, as the wave offering breast and as the right thigh, it shall be yours.
      19 All the wave offerings of the holy things, which the children of Israel offer to Yahweh, have I given you, and your sons and your daughters with you, as a portion forever: it is a covenant of salt forever before Yahweh to you and to your seed with you."
      20 Yahweh said to Aaron, "You shall have no inheritance in their land, neither shall you have any portion among them. I am your portion and your inheritance among the children of Israel.
      21 "To the children of Levi, behold, I have given all the tithe in Israel for an inheritance, in return for their service which they serve, even the service of the Tent of Meeting.
      22 Henceforth the children of Israel shall not come near the Tent of Meeting, lest they bear sin, and die.
      23 But the Levites shall do the service of the Tent of Meeting, and they shall bear their iniquity: it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations; and among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance.
      24 For the tithe of the children of Israel, which they offer as a wave offering to Yahweh, I have given to the Levites for an inheritance: therefore I have said to them, 'Among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance.'"
      25 Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
      26 "Moreover you shall speak to the Levites, and tell them, 'When you take of the children of Israel the tithe which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then you shall offer up a wave offering of it for Yahweh, a tithe of the tithe.
      27 Your wave offering shall be reckoned to you, as though it were the grain of the threshing floor, and as the fullness of the winepress.
      28 Thus you also shall offer a wave offering to Yahweh of all your tithes, which you receive of the children of Israel; and of it you shall give Yahweh's wave offering to Aaron the priest.
      29 Out of all your gifts you shall offer every wave offering of Yahweh, of all its best, even the holy part of it out of it.'
      30 "Therefore you shall tell them, 'When you heave its best from it, then it shall be reckoned to the Levites as the increase of the threshing floor, and as the increase of the winepress.
      31 You shall eat it in every place, you and your households: for it is your reward in return for your service in the Tent of Meeting.
      32 You shall bear no sin by reason of it, when you have heaved from it its best: and you shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel, that you not die.'"
