Lévitique 7.35

C'est là le droit que l'onction conférera à Aaron et à ses fils, sur les sacrifices faits par le feu à l'Éternel, au jour où on les présentera pour exercer la sacrificature à l'Éternel ;

35 à 38 Conclusion.

Ces quatre versets renferment deux sommaires dont le premier nous paraît être celui du passage 6.8-7.34, touchant la part qui revient au sacrificateur sur les sacrifices faits par le feu ; le second, celui de tout le morceau chapitres 1 à 7, relatif aux diverses espèces de sacrifices et d'oblations.

Le droit que donnera l'onction, littéralement : le droit de l'onction. Le terme ainsi rendu (mischecha), qui ne se retrouve (légèrement modifié) que Nombres 18.8, peut être mis ici en rapport avec le verbe maschach, oindre. Il désigne, en ce cas, le droit conféré au sacrificateur par l'onction. Mais plusieurs remontent an sens primitif de maschach, qui est celui de frotter, tracer des lignes, d'où faire des portions. D'après cela, le substantif désignerait une portion assignée, et, dans ce cas, le sens des versets 35 et 36 serait celui-ci : C'est ici la portion d'Aaron et celle de ses fils sur les sacrifices offerts par le feu à l'Eternel, portion qui leur sera remise dès le jour où ils auront été présentés pour servir l'Eternel comme sacrificateurs.
