Mais tous les invités, l’un après l’autre, se mettent à s’excuser. Le premier dit au serviteur : “Je viens d’acheter un champ et je dois aller le voir. Je t’en prie, excuse-moi.”

World English Bible They all as one began to make excuses. "The first said to him, 'I have bought a field, and I must go and see it. Please have me excused.'

Grec : Et ils commencèrent tous d'une seule voix ou d'une seule opinion.

Ces termes font ressortir ce qu'il y avait dans une telle conduite de surprenant, d'ingrat, d'injurieux pour celui qui invitait. C'est l'inimitié du cœur de l'homme contre Dieu prise sur le fait.
