1 à 4 Contre les princes et magistrats.

Les mots : Et j'ai dit, marquent que ce discours est la continuation ou la reprise du précédent. Le prophète précise ici les censures et les menaces déjà énoncées. Il ne pourra développer la promesse brièvement indiquée 2.12-13, comme il le fera aux chapitres 4 et 5, qu'après qu'il aura d'abord mis à nu, dans tout ce qu'elle a d'odieux, l'iniquité d'Israël et annoncé, avec une impitoyable précision le châtiment dont il a parlé jusqu'ici en termes généraux, chapitres 1 et 2.

Chefs, magistrats : les autorités politiques et. judiciaires ; les chefs de tribu et de famille auxquels incombait, concurremment avec les prêtres nommés plus bas (verset 11), l'office de rendre la justice (Deutéronome 17.8 et suivants, 2Chroniques 19.8 et suivants). Le terme traduit par magistrats répond à l'arabe kadi, juge.

Connaître : pratiquement, dans leurs décisions. Si eux, chargés de faire respecter le droit, ne se conforment pas, qui le fera ?

Les hommes ne peuvent pas commettre délibérément le mal en pensant pouvoir s'en tirer impunément ; qu’ils subissent plutôt la juste rétribution de leurs actes !

Dans une pyramide hiérarchique, il arrive fréquemment que de saines vérités ne parviennent pas à atteindre ceux qui sont à la tête ! Ceux qui trompent délibérément leurs semblables doivent se préparer à être humiliés par Dieu.

Le prophète Michée éprouvait un amour ardent envers Dieu et désirait le salut des âmes : il luttait avec zèle contre le péché. Les difficultés qu'il rencontrait ne l’empêchaient pas d'accomplir son devoir. La ténacité qu’il manifestait ne venait pas de lui-même : il était poussé par le Saint-Esprit !

Ceux qui agissent honnêtement, la paix au cœur, avec le Seigneur, peuvent marcher en toute assurance. Les personnes qui viennent entendre la Parole de Dieu, doivent s’attendre à ce que cette Dernière leur révèle leurs fautes ; ils doivent accepter ce fait, de bonne grâce et en être reconnaissants !
