World English Bible Then my enemy will see it, and shame will cover her who said to me, where is Yahweh your God? Then my enemy will see me and will cover her shame. Now she will be trodden down like the mire of the streets.

Que mon ennemie le voie : qu'elle voie le triomphe de Sion (verset 9), au lieu de repaître ses regards de sa chute (4.11).

La honte... : l'humiliation de sa propre chute, quand elle sera renversée pour qu'Israël soit délivré. Ce vœu n'est pas cruel, il est juste, car elle s'est élevée non seulement contre Israël, mais contre Dieu.

Quand elle sera foulée... Image expressive de la destruction de la puissance ennemie. Voir la même image employée par Esaïe 10.6 pour dépeindre l'asservissement d'Israël aux conquérants païens.
