Ce verset explique et complète le précèdent.

Ceux qui sont morts, (verset 14) qui sont affranchis de l'empire de l'égoïsme et du péché, sont les seuls qui vivent véritablement. Or, quoi de plus naturel pour eux que de consacrer cette vie nouvelle à Celui de qui ils l'ont reçue, et qui leur a donné la sienne ? Paul ajoute un nouveau bienfait de leur Sauveur : sa résurrection pour eux, parce que c'est la puissance de sa résurrection qui est la source de leur vie. (Romains 14.7,8 ; Galates 2.20)
