Réponse qui renferme l'Evangile dans toute sa richesse. Paul, en annonçant la parole divine au geôlier, (verset 32) ne put rien lui dire qui ne fût déjà contenu dans sa première réponse.

Croire au Seigneur Jésus-Christ, c'est-à-dire se confier en lui du fond du cœur, c'est déjà être sauvé. (Actes 15.11 ; Jean 3.16 ; 20.31)

Telle est aussi la doctrine de Paul dans toutes ses épîtres.

Le texte reçu porte : "Seigneur Jésus-Christ."

Ce dernier mot manque dans Sin., B, A, mais il se lit dans tous les autres majuscules et la plupart des versions anciennes.
