Ainsi se rattache naturellement ce qui suit, où elle décrit comment, le conduisant dans la maison de sa mère, elle pourrait lui offrir tous les fruits excellents, mis en réserve par elle en vue de lui.

Les mandragores. Comparez Genèse 30.14. Les fruits de cette plante mûrissent au mois de mai et répandent un parfum agréable, mais douceâtre.

A nos portes, probablement : au-dessus de nos portes ; c'est à dire suspendus sur les corniches des portes.

Des nouveaux et aussi des anciens : les uns, de nouvelle venue ; les autres, gardés pour lui dès l'année précédente.
