Ce sont à peu près les frontières indiquées Genèse 15.18 ; Deutéronome 1.7 ; Psaumes 72.8 (comparez Zacharie 9.10). Jamais les Israélites n'ont occupé un si grand territoire, et même l'empire de David et de Salomon n'a pas réalisé complètement ce qui est dit ici ; car il n'est pas question ici de dominer sur les peuples habitant entre l'Euphrate et le désert, mais de les expulser.
