C'est pour Isaac un jour de fête, qu'il veut célébrer par un banquet. Agissait-il à l'insu de Rébecca ? Il le semblerait, car il n'a recours qu'à l'aide du seul Esaü.

Isaac suit son impulsion naturelle, sans songer à consulter l'Eternel ou à attendre un ordre de lui.
