Non seulement l'intercesseur demande une année de sursis, mais il s'engage à donner au figuier ses soins, culture, engrais, tout ce qui sera possible.

Cette priÚre fut exaucée pour le peuple juif : quarante ans s'écoulÚrent avant la ruine de Jérusalem. Et dans cet intervalle la mort et la résurrection de Jésus, la PentecÎte et la fondation de l'Eglise furent des appels, représentés dans la parabole par les soins exceptionnels que le vigneron promet de donner au figuier.
