Le mot de mal (aven) désigne ici, comme souvent, la conséquence naturelle du péché. Les ouvriers d'iniquité seront accablés par les suites de leurs péchés. Nous retrouvons ici. comme dans 11.4,5,8, la doctrine courante de l'Ancien Testament, celle du rapport exact qui doit exister entre la justice et le bonheur, entre le péché et le malheur. Le livre de Job et tels Psaumes, le 73ième, par exemple, qui s'occupent des exceptions, semblent bien loin de compte. Mais Salomon pose la règle.
