11 et 12 Après les conseils adressés à l'homme dont les affaires prospèrent, en voici qui regardent celui que visite l'adversité. Ces versets sont cités Hébreux 12.5, d'après les Septante, qui, au lieu de comme un père (oukeav), ont lu il châtie (jakeïv). Ils expriment l'idée qu'expose Elihu, dans les chapitres 32 à 37 de Job : les épreuves que Dieu envoie aux siens ont pour mobile l'amour, et pour but le perfectionnement du fidèle.
